FABRIC STORIES PART TWO

I just heard on the news that snake bites are way up this summer.

Dang it...just another reason to be freaking scared when I walk my dogs on our trail.  The other day someone mentioned they saw a fox there.  I did not really pay attention until I SAW it twice and freaked.

The first time I turned around and ran like my hair was on fire back to the street dragging the dogs.  Then I was spooked and was scared to go back.  A few days later I was walking the dogs with my husband and I saw it again.

I stayed away for about a week but my dogs were like " what is the deal Mom....the streets are boring....we want to go back to the trail where we can eat AND roll in poop.....we love poop".
So I caved thinking that if I made a ton of noise the fox would get spooked and stay away.

So if you hear a lot of ruckus on the trail....that would be me singing, whistling and talking loudly to myself.

Ignore.

As promised.....here are the rest of the fabric groupings I presented at Haven a couple of weeks ago.

It might look like I use a lot of florals....not always but I do like a fabric with some movement in it.

I am loving this cotton velvet from Kravet.  Very durable.
Maybe this group would look good with this rug.

Yes...it could be a little out there...but design is all about taking a risk and the cheetah pattern is a classic.  Snicker if you want.

The top fabric is a new one from Robert Allen.  Of course we all know and love Schumachers Zimba.

Wouldn't these pictures be cute with this grouping???

Just in case you were out of town and missed my last post :)

The Schumacher fabric on the right [Hot House Flowers in Mineral] has always been one of my favorites, along with the Kravid Riad on the left.  It now comes in some really great new colors like navy and pink!

I like this color way....
I even used it in my bedroom in the mint green
And...I used it in this makeover on some benches.

Yeah...I pretty much love this fabric.

The last one I used Celerie Kimble's Hot House Flowers in Verdance.  I love how the large Ikat [Duralee] looks with it.

I am going to be helping out Sudi at Scott's on Friday the 13th....so you better come by and say Hi....AND buy a pillow.  I will let you know what booth she has.

8 more hours until the whistle blows and you can start popping tops and uncorking......TGIF.

Sha Zam baby!

Sherry you have put together some cool palettes. Sorry about you being scared of snakes and foxes...I can deal with either as long as I can see them from a distance.

I still love those umbrella girls!

Your fox story reminds me of The Parent Trap when the girlfriend was banging sticks together to keep away the mountain lions;) I am freaking out about all the snake bite stories in Charleston ! I can't wait to see what lovely pillows you spy and score at Scott's? Cheers!

Sherry, I MUST save some $$$ and get blue and yellow in my black, white and gold house!!! I could find fabric and have my dear, dear, talented Granddaughter make pillows?? I would need three. Have to work it in with cleverly.
MC and I will do our best to get to Scotts on Friday. What approx. time will you be there?
Oh, I am scared to death of any animal that doesn't belong in a house! My worst...Mice! I can't even watch them on TV. We also have a couple of fox(es) running around our neighborhood! I stay far away INSIDE!

Love all your color palettes Sherry!
It's fun to see how you mix and coordinate.

Hope the little fox doesn't
hang around your favorite trails for too long!

You've got some fabric skills for sure! Maybe you can lure the foxes into submission by showing them some of your fabric stories. I hear they find that soothing. :)

These are all sooo good! I've been contemplating the Duralee yellow Ikat for our breakfast room . . .But that means I have to paint before I put up curtains. WHEN will I get this done???? I will probably change my mind before I actually do it.

Such fun palettes! That umbrella painting would be lovely with it- and perfect for me as I just got done with school in Seattle! :)

Girl, I would never snicker at you over your cheetah rug... you're massively talented, if you say cheetah, i would do cheetah! I'm loving some of those fabrics, great combinations! And... ummmm, hopefully the fox isn't rabid, and you don't step on a snake running away from it... ;)

I love the image of running away in a panic as if your hair was on fire! Too funny. I hope the snakes avoid you--the foxes too! My mom called the cops one time and reported a wolf sighting when it was really a little red fox in her yard...

The fabric groupings are all so pretty. I just used that Duralee Ikat for a client. And I love the Celerie Kimble--going to go look for that one now!

Here in south Denver, we have signs up all over warning walkers and hikers about foxes and coyotes (and we're in a very urban area).

About this time last year, I stepped outside to get the mail and a large fox popped out from under our front porch. He'd dug a pocket under there for himself. He was a big as a medium-sized dog. I had the Hubs fill the hole immediately with dry concrete.

P.S. I love Schumacher's Zimba with my whole heart. And a few other body parts.

I'm so confused a fox is a gentle animal that eats small prey like mice. I am always happy to see them around our area. Now snakes are another story....well rattle snakes I should say.
Okay now I have to go back and look at your lovely fabric, great colors.

Hi Sherry! I've really enjoyed reading through your blog. Since you are the fabric guru, I have a question for you. Do you know of a reasonably priced alternative for Chiang Mai Dragon? I'd like something with a light background like the alabaster colorway, and close to the "Chiang Mai" but maybe without the dragon. I've searched and am coming up empty-handed. Was wanting to use something similar on the backs of some vintage chairs that I'm re-doing. Thanks for any help you could send my way!
