AROUND THE HOUSE

Good morning Monday....I have an Olympic hangover.......

Need to take a break today.....Sports are fun to watch and all that.....but well....gotta have some balance right?

It seems like you guys were all over that staging project.  I have more news to report...the professional pictures that the owner took and other details about the house.

Later on this week.

First up today I am going to share with you a picture of the slipcover  for my sofa that I did back in May...... and the dirt cheap lamps that I purchased at the Currey and Co warehouse lampapalooza.

This image was photographed by Christina Wedge.
She made it look pretty huh?

I took this one....
I have retired the pink chairs.

I know...... it was a phase.  There was no other pink in my house and I just felt like they were a little disconnected.  A pink book maybe....

I am either gonna sell or have them recovered in a cream.  I dunno.
Thoughts?  They are modern.  I like that part.

I have something else to show you....
Remember when I put these hydrangea in this white vase....it looked so pretty I wanted to put fake ones in.  But....you guys blasted me about that.

I really wasn't gonna do it.

I did find a solution though.

Tillandsia.

This little sucker needs no dirt.  Water like once a month.  Can I get a "hallelujah".

Just pick it up and spray the roots, or let it sit in a vase of water overnight.

Might be the best plant ever.

I love it so much I might make some earrings out of them.....

Christina took this also.  She made me look younger that I really do.  I hate having my picture taken.  So awkward.

I gotta run...Wednesday....part 6 of the ORC.  Hopefully I will have a few tricks up my skirt :)

Seekers Bazaar did a sweet little post on the ORC.....check it out.
She gave me a new name....

Sherrific!

BOOM.

Please don't recover those chairs! I would really like to buy them from you. Would you let me know if you decide to sell?

Okay, I really need some of those plants. Great photo of you and your cute baby. Pictures for a publication?

Your house is beautiful - duh! And if Susie Harper doesn't buy your pink chairs, I might! Although, I think they would look lovely in cream (maybe faux ostrich or something) as well. It's your call! Love that plant! Saw that somewhere recently. Maybe West Elm? Can't remember. Might need one!

I love your front living room decor. All the white makes me swoon! Btw, I'm not a plant snob, so fakes are fine by me. I dare anyone to "blast me" about it too! I wouldn't worry about it, honestly.

Got to get one of those plants! I can barely keep my children alive, much less a plant. Your new slipcover is awesome. I wish we had someone where I live that would make them on-site. Fabulous!

Chairs: I love those chairs..how about some sort of slipcover that you can see through...just a hint of pink? Organza, lace? on old bridal veil?

Plant: dang I'm gettin one!

You: DANG...you are a doll baby

My thoughts on the pink chairs...KEEP THEM! They are so unexpected. That what makes a room interesting, right? Put a new pillow on them. Maybe that will change your tune.
I have to ask, where does one find a plant like yours?
You gave me another reason why I want to move to Atlanta. First it was Scott's. Now it's for your slipcover master.
And lastly...You & your pup look adorable!!!

Ummm, I think you must be smoking some fake flowers missy because no sane person would get rid of those pink chairs! They are fab, and are amazing against that black and white wall. Stop yourself. Now. Please. Yea, No fake flowers! Not cool. At all. Gotta say I love that solution you came up with. Super clever. So feel you on taking photos. Hate em. Dread em. Anywho, happy Monday and yes, I think we're all hungover from the Olympics and my Jamaicans haven't even hit the tracks yet! Lord help all us bleary-eyed bloggers.

Earrings outta those plants would be epic, that's for sure! Yeah, your living room looks really really pretty! And your black striped walls are so crazy good.

Chair bully! Just give em a chance...ummm...maybe at my casa...perchance. I rescue. Yes I do.

Secondly...those plants grow like wildfire in our trees. Happilly trade you...umm... maybe for a pink chair or two.

Thirdly...YOU are as cute as a button. a pink button.

There. SEE. You do have more pink in your abode!

I'm with the "keep the pink chairs" club. I hate taking my picture, too. In fact, I may have made myself look younger...just sayin. I have wanted one of those plants for some time..guess time is up! Love your home, and I wish you lived closer. I have a feeling we would share a bottle of wine together?

Elizabeth @ The Little Black Door said...

Oh you've gotta keep those chairs. Or send them to me. Your choice. :)

You look SO cute {I agree with you about the awkwardness of having my picture taken though}. And that plant may just change my life...I need one now. :)

Tillandsia! Great choice..I had forgotten about them. That's a nice large one and it looks so good in your vignette.

Everything looks so pretty. Love your white chair. Looks amazing with the gray pillow on it. Your picture looks great... I hate getting my picture taken also and I am married to a photographer. I need one for my blog, but I am so critical cant find one I like. Pretty bad....?

This also deserves a SHAZAM! You look great in the photo and I don't remember ever seeing your front exterior entry but it's beautiful - that's exactly how I envision our next home in my dreams :) I love the door and your steps. BUT - must Pin tillandsia - that is awesome!! And so easy to take care of is a big plus. What if you draped a throw or something over the pink chair? Would that help at all? The cream could go anywhere though...tough call.

I love those chairs....love them.

My daugher will be a bridesmaid on Saturday and if it were up to me I'd use that plant as a hairpiece. Of course that won't happen but I digest. You look marvelous darling!

Love your new photos!! You look great, and I love air plants. But I somehow manage to kill mine...I think I do better with real dirt and a regular watering schedule.
