I have a few random things to post about here.
First up....a little something you might be interested in .....chalk paint. Sherry at No Minimalist Here blog made her own....for $4.00. Uh huh...go read about it.
Second my friend Julie from Milk and Honey Home has a feature in Kitchen and Bath makeovers! I am so excited for her. They have had quite the month with a spread in Southern Flourish also.
Next up is a new pillow for me. What you gasp.....! Oh just a little something.....
I am continuing my love for black and white. AND....I painted this sisal rug that used to be in my bedroom [from Ikea no less!]. Yep...just got out the roller and a gallon of latex paint from my basement [white dove leftover] and got to it. It took 2 coats...and I had to press really hard to get it to soak in. This was right after, I was worried that it wouldn't lay flat....but it has.
Last....this is a basement I am working on. The furniture is in...the pillows are being made and I have been shopping for 2 weeks. Have 2 large bookcases to accessorize as you can see below.
Stay tuned....more about this project soon.
Here is hoping you spank Tuesday :)

cool idea with painting the rug...
and gotta run over and check out the chalk paint recipe...
can't wait to see the shelves when completed!!!
best,
maureen
What a great basement....which will be fantabulous when you get done!
I have a confession to make....I HATE Annie Sloan Chalk Paint...I have been keeping that in for weeks now, since I used it and HATED it and repainted the piece and glazed it like I would have anyway were it not for the accolades about the wonderful chalk paint...I am easily led...BUT, alas it is NOT for me....I feel better now that I have gotten that out!
On another note...are you going to the Country Living Fair in October?? Sharon and I will be there! The closest thing to Warrenton and Round Top, Texas for us! Though I did do a mapquest for Warrenton....12 hours 37 minutes from here...just sayin'
LOVE the pillow!
Lou Cinda ;)
I wanna hear more from Lou Cinda up there about why she hated ASCP. I've never tried and was thinkin' of gettin' me some.
What color are those basement bookcases? Also like the light. Nice for a flush mount.
I have never heard of anyone painting their rug before! That's a great idea. I wonder if the paint will hold up though once it gets used. That's truly thinking outside the box.
aaahhh... what a great tuesday morning... i am doing the same... nothing better.
love the black and white... i am really into right now as well... loving how crisp and clean...
and painting your rug... great idea... how is it on your feet?
I love No Minimalist, she does so many great things. I think the chalk paint is an aquired taste, although I have used it and liked it.
Laughed at the commentor who said she hated it.
That's going to be one fabulous basement!
Loving the pillow (surprise!) and I'm excited to read about this chalk paint recipe... :)
That's a basement??!! Very interested to see it all done up like you do so nicely - and love those fabrics you have pulled for the space.
Yay for pj mornings! Your project looks fun. I know you will have those shelves singing in no time.
I didn't know you could just paint over sisal how cool is that? Nothing like getting to spend the morning in your PJ's even better when it's raining out so you don't feel guilty. Hey did you install that ceiling light in your clients basement? If so where did you buy it please?
What does the rug look like? I mean I see it, but you know. All this upholstery painting and rug painting makes me wonder if it only looks cool in blog pictures. Tell the truth!!
I can't believe that's a basement. Really pumped to see more. I'm jealous of your morning. You're my lone blog comment today, feel special lady!
Love your new striped pillow! Looking forward to see how your client's project turned out! Adore the fabrics you selected, by the way!

Girl, I've never seen anyone so comfortable with a paint roller in their hand! You are so clever!!
Hi Sherry,
I have not yet spanked Tuesday but will get right on it.
Black and white pillow. Love!
That undecorated basement is better than my entire house and is going to look killer once you work your magic.
Camille
Hey Kiddo! You know where I stand on black and white and then you add a stripe to the mix and I am so there!!! You are one brave lady, painting a rug. I love that about you, your daring attitude, the Why not?!! way you will say before you move forward. You are my kind of gal!xo Kathysue
Love how you pulled the blue out of the floral/butterfly fabric with the secondary fabrics. Really great look.
The rug you painted looks amazing! What a great idea. I also love your new pillow! I think I will always love stripes! there's just something about them. :)
I can't believe that's a BASEMENT!!! Can't wait to see what it looks like once you're done. Love the black and white pillow...so fresh and clean!
That basement is pretty lovely... and bright! Love your rug redo too. That's something I haven't tackled yet, but might someday.
YES to the pillow. You and I share the same obsession! Can't wait to see the finished basement. Looking good already {better than my house!}
That built-in is incredible! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
Awesome! You painted that rug!! And, i love the black and white pillow. I just keep mumbling to myself, "what is it about black and white"??? I really really like it alot... and i really want it in my house, but how? where? I'm thinkin zebra rug somewhere,... maybe, or it might look stupid, not sure...
Cindy
You are so full of fun developments!!!
