BEFORE AND AFTER PART 2

Can we talk about Florida weather and hair?  Yeah....I am not sure I could live here on a daily basis.   Good hair days would be rare.

Because of my Dad....we all have curly frizzy hair.  It sucks.  I can't even put it in a ponytail because of all the short hairs around my hairline that I have now...... since I got old.

Yep....just more good news for you young people who think "what is so bad about getting old".

I was so happy this kitchen makeover inspired you guys with dark cherry cabinets!  If you missed Tuesdays post go here

Years ago when Mande painted the island [Farrow and Ball/Mouses Back]  it was always a goal to eventually get to the rest of the cabinets.

But....a move to Portland for a year, a baby and life got in the way.

Fast forward to this summer and one weekend they said "let's do this!".

Here is the inspiration picture that I sent her at least 3-4 years ago....

I thought it would be a perfect look in this area.

Let's look at the progress pictures...
Here is the story about the fridge.  A new Sub Zero is a bucket full of money....so she found one on ebay........
It was half the price of a new one.

 Counter depth fridge......check!

Here are the lights from Cedar Moss

Such a great price at 159.00!

A picture of the cabinets ordered from Barker Cabinets.  They come ready to assemble.

There is a video online to help put them together....she said it was easy......

The countertop came from Floor and Decor

These knobs are from Myknobs.com

The paint color is Benjamin Moore-Dragons Breath

So before we get to the reveal.....this was a total DIY.  The only time they had help was to get that Sub Zero up to the second floor from the garage.

Her husband Joe did it all....what a prince!  She did have a little help...:-)

The "little prince"....lol.

Now you can see where the wine fridge and the microwave are.

That fridge is a beauty huh!  5 years old and in perfect shape.

I took a few other pictures while I was there...

A few more sources:
The kitchen pulls are from here
The rug is Mande's and she bought it in Greece.

The paint colors are:
Lower cabinets: F&B Mouses Back
Walls: F&B Light Gray
Buffett: BM Dragons Breath
Upper Cabinets:  We just matched the trim.  Not sure what the color is but it is NOT white....  more of an eggshell color.

Whew.....that's it!  What a great transformation huh?

Y'all have a great weekend!

Sherika

Oh Sherry, I need you here - you always work your magic (of course with a little help from a precious carpenter in goggles, I see). Love the color of the cabinets and the lighting is amazing. As, one of four girls with hair issues, we all understand the Florida frizz. I live for Fridays when someone washes, puts product in, round brushes, pulls and flat irons my hair…
