Can we talk about Florida weather and hair? Yeah....I am not sure I could live here on a daily basis. Good hair days would be rare.
Because of my Dad....we all have curly frizzy hair. It sucks. I can't even put it in a ponytail because of all the short hairs around my hairline that I have now...... since I got old.
Yep....just more good news for you young people who think "what is so bad about getting old".
I was so happy this kitchen makeover inspired you guys with dark cherry cabinets! If you missed Tuesdays post go here
Years ago when Mande painted the island [Farrow and Ball/Mouses Back] it was always a goal to eventually get to the rest of the cabinets.
But....a move to Portland for a year, a baby and life got in the way.
Fast forward to this summer and one weekend they said "let's do this!".
Here is the inspiration picture that I sent her at least 3-4 years ago....
I thought it would be a perfect look in this area.
Let's look at the progress pictures...
Here is the story about the fridge. A new Sub Zero is a bucket full of money....so she found one on ebay........
It was half the price of a new one.
Here are the lights from Cedar Moss
Such a great price at 159.00!
A picture of the cabinets ordered from Barker Cabinets. They come ready to assemble.
There is a video online to help put them together....she said it was easy......
The countertop came from Floor and Decor
These knobs are from Myknobs.com
The paint color is Benjamin Moore-Dragons Breath
So before we get to the reveal.....this was a total DIY. The only time they had help was to get that Sub Zero up to the second floor from the garage.
Her husband Joe did it all....what a prince! She did have a little help...:-)
The "little prince"....lol.
Now you can see where the wine fridge and the microwave are.
That fridge is a beauty huh! 5 years old and in perfect shape.
I took a few other pictures while I was there...
A few more sources:
The kitchen pulls are from here
The rug is Mande's and she bought it in Greece.
The paint colors are:
Lower cabinets: F&B Mouses Back
Walls: F&B Light Gray
Buffett: BM Dragons Breath
Upper Cabinets: We just matched the trim. Not sure what the color is but it is NOT white.... more of an eggshell color.
Whew.....that's it! What a great transformation huh?
Y'all have a great weekend!

You are too too good. It's all amazing. Everytime you reveal a space I want to toss a grenade in my home and start over. I mean that in a good way. ;)
Seriously? Do you ever do anything that isn't perfection?? I love everything about this space. Beautiful work!
Fabulous.
will they mind if i bunk with them? i want to live there!
Ok, I am bookmarking this transformation. I have been wanting to paint my lower cabinets gray every since I saw the pic from Cottage Living magazine. That color combo still looks amazing. Thanks for sharing the makeover, it looks great!
What an impressive DIY. I absolutely love the inspiration photo (think I may need some of these elements in my own house)and the homeowners did an awesome job transforming their own space. Gorgeous.
Absolutely fabulous!!!!!! And a sub zero on EBAY????!!! Wow!
That looks amazing!!!!! Let us see more!
FANTASTIC! Love the way it all came together... and so many great details. Kudos!

So damn good! I don't even know what else to say!
What a stunner! It's so classic and clean. I've had the same inspiration picture for years- love it! Your client must be thrilled.

Oh Sherry, I need you here - you always work your magic (of course with a little help from a precious carpenter in goggles, I see). Love the color of the cabinets and the lighting is amazing. As, one of four girls with hair issues, we all understand the Florida frizz. I live for Fridays when someone washes, puts product in, round brushes, pulls and flat irons my hair…
Sherry~ love the rest of the makeover! Dragon's Breath is such an interesting color, I think...admired it for some time now. Will pin it for future use:) A really pretty space- thanks for the inspiration...I need to repaint my kitchen cabinets soon...oy! lol
Every detail is perfect! Love all the nooks for storage! And who knew you could find such great hardware at Home Depot???
Look amazing! I love the color of the cabinets with the butcher block counters :)
I love this kitchen! What is the cabinet pull called that you got from myknobs.com?
That kitchen is perfect! I can die for it, it's so beautiful, like the cabinets, their colour and knobs, everything.

Unbelievable that was a DIY kitchen! Great call on the Ebay SubZ, too!
You are so good! I love how you worked with the granite instead of ripping it out and installing new countertops. Your design is beautiful and the colors are perfect!!
I love how it turned out. It`s amazing! Great job! Love the idea with the blackboard. I want one in my kitchen wall, too.

What a great makeover. I love that fridge - the cabinet colors are perfect. I love all the clean lines in the whole look too.
Pretty much head over heels for everything about this new space you created. Smart, smart, smart design, and gorgeous!
please come to Columbus, Ohio... :)
Would you please give me the source for the cladding on the walls. I love that Florida beach look and have been trying to create that in a bedroom. Your remodel is perfect by the way!! Great color and great style!!
This looks amazing. Do you happen to remember what the brand / name of the brass pulls from myknobs.com? I'm dying to put them in my bathroom.
Love the cabinet color! Would you be able to share the paint color you choose for the walls? Very complimentary to the Dragon's Breath! Bravo!!
Did you use a spray gun to paint your cabinets? How did you do it? Love it!! Looks factory painted.
