Giveaway winner!

OK I when to Random.org and the winner of the fabric, soap dish and the egg prints is Lou Cinda from Tattered Hydrangeas!  I know what you are thinking because if you remember...she came up to go to Scott's with me but I promise I was fair :)  I have to tell you that she is SO dang funny and I wish she lived closer....so I could hang out with her.

Just a few thoughts today on wallpaper.  About 5 years ago I wallpapered my guest bath with this paper.
It is Cole and Sons and I know you have seen it everywhere.  Don't get me wrong, I do love it but I am ready for a change.  I think 5 years is pretty good to keep something.  And besides...I was really happy with it until I started reading blogs and saw it everywhere!!!!  Thanks fellow bloggers....I thought I was the only ONE with this paper.

So...I have been looking at some new selections.  Then I saw this on Live Like You and just could not stop staring.  I love Jill's house and this was brilliant.

Drool.....
I had to run get a sample cause I really love it.

And it comes in a few other color ways...
Like this gray and cream.
I am pretty sure that the black and white is it but here are a few more that I saw and liked.

But...then again.....these 2 from Schumacher are good.
I like this one....and
this one.  So now... a decision.  And before I started blogging I would  make it and be done with it.  Now I am crippled...frozen unable to make a decision.  It is like I am in the fetal position in the corner sucking my thumb speaking in tongue.

Here is another picture of Jill's hallway
The gold mirror....the blue walls.  Of course I do not have a mirror like that or blue walls.....but I can wing it.

Day 5 of no sun here in Atlanta.  Yes...you read that right.  Never made it to the beach.  The back was just too bad to sit in a car for 5 hours.  I was trying to move my dog's 75lb butt out of my place in bed and really threw it out.  Sissy.  Gonna shoot for  April 9th or 10th.

Oh, oh they all are great. How many bathrooms do you have? smile... There is something about the one Schumacher with the yellow/tan dots I like it is running close to your favorite the black/white. I hope your back is getting better. xo

I love back and white, especially with gold accents - perfection (imo)! That wallpaper reminds me of this stencil - http://www.oliveleafstencils.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=5&product_id=68

Have you thought about a stencil? Or are you set on wallpaper? Whatever you do it's going to be amazing - can't wait to see!!!! I still love what it looks like now - wish you could give it to me :) since you don't want it anymore!

Dang, I never win giveaways. Oh well, maybe next time. I'm loving black and white lately, so I'd have to pick that tone. Although, I've always loved me some David Hicks. I'm crippled too. Damn blogs!

I meant to type that "one" not that "tone" but you get the idea.

Don't you just love Jills amazingly fun use of color. I think that paper in her hall is stunning for her home. I love the top Shumacher paper in dk. gray, so pretty and classic and still young and fresh at the same time. Kathysue

So sorry about your back! That's really the worst!

I do love your wallpaper choices though! They are all great, but I really like the bold geometric black and white.

You would make it look fab!!

Thanks for including my hallway! That's so funny Sherry, three of those wallpapers you have, I had selected as possibilities for the hallway! The David Hicks one is another gem, but the "Chanel" paper had me at hello. The gray version would look amazing in your bathroom. It gives such a cool effect.

Sorry about your back, how bad is it?? Muscle relaxers? Hope it is better soon! Congrats to the winner!....On to the wallpaper, I like the black and white one but.....I really like the black w/ yellow hexagon too!!!! Are you keeping the beadboard?

OK, I've seen Woods everywhere too, but I really like it in your bath. I like the subtle tone of it. I'm guessing you want more of a punch based on your choices. Would you ever consider keeping your current paper, but painting your wainscot and switching out your shower curtain?

Maybe black wainscot and a bolder shower curtain would do the trick?

Sherry, I am so excited I won the give away!! I LOVE those egg prints! Love'em! LOVE!

On to the wallpaper...I LOVE your bathroom but get what you are saying about a change and everybody having it and all that....Can I tell you how much I HATE taking down wallpaper? Oh, your aching back for sure!!! Hire it done! It is a hot, slimy, messy hot mess! I used to do wallpaper for people and Lord how I hated it when I had to take that stuff down!

I know whatever you pick will be stunning! Then we will all want it and we will go out and get it and then you will start seeing your bathroom paper all over blog land.....hmmmmm

I hope you are feeling much better :)

Still excited!!

I couldn't stop staring at jills hallway, I wants it in mine. Bad. So bad I might paint it on myself. Since I can imagine its not cheap to order.

I think 5 years is long enough for wallpaper...and I hear ya with blogs and tiring of things. I still think you are on the cutting edge:) And Jill is just amazing! I love how she is so brave with color and pattern.

Your bathroom is beautiful!! If you are going to change the paper, my favorites are the two by Schumacher! 5 years is just about the time I start to look at my walls too- and wonder what I can change and how! :)

Five years is a good life! That is the problem with blogs, you sometimes see things everywhere. I love all your potential choices!

Sherry,

Sorry, I have not been here for a while. First the flu x 3 kids (!) and now Spring break. But know that you are loved!

Isn't Jill talented! I find her so brave and very inspirational. I love her b/w wall paper. I chose that Hick's wall paper in my foyer and that is another wall paper I never get tired off. Link here: (you might need to scroll down a tad).

Warm hugs to you and happy weekend!

I just talked to a blogger friend about this yesterday. We see things everywhere and think it's so overdone but non-bloggers think it's fresh and new. I love your wallpaper. What about a mini makeover leaving the paper. I think maybe the gorgeous paper in Jill's fantastic hallway could be the next "trees".

Capella Kincheloe Interior Design said...

I think you should keep the Cole & Sons paper and have an artist draw little colorful birds (or bugs, or gnomes, or whatever) on the paper - that way you won't have to repaper, it'll be different and it'll be paper no one else has.

I love that bold paper in Jill's nook. However, there is a big difference between a nook and a small bathroom.

The bold paper in a nook that is open to other rooms means that it is never really oppressive because it is in a space that you pass through for only a moment.

However, a small bathroom is an entirely different story. Once you enter and close the door, it's just you and the paper. So I think it is important to remember that once someone is in the bathroom, they won't have the visual respite that one has in that tiny nook that is open on three sides.

The grey and cream version would probably feel less oppressive. I also love the grey and cream version that looks like iron trelliswork. I have faith in you. You always make the right choice!
