PROJECT UPDATE

I hope everyone had a great holiday!  I mostly worked picking out bathroom mirrors, cabinet hardware and doing estimates for furniture plans.

When there are 8 bathrooms.....that is a lot of things to select:)

Whew....

I did venture out Saturday afternoon to a small gathering where everyone brought their own food, chairs and drinks.  We were all sitting so far apart it was hard to hear....ha ha #oldpeopleproblems

It was very hot on the 4th so I only made it a couple of hours.....

On Sunday I went over to my project to get counts for hooks....towel bars and cabinet hardware....

I took a few pictures of this whole house renovation.  The architects were Pritchett + Dixon and Ladisic Fine Homes was the builder.

Looking into the kitchen from the family room.

Below is the pantry....

There will be some open shelves here....

The island being installed.....

I posted this on Instagram and people were saying how everything comes back again....yes oak!  We all remember the golden oak cabinets way back when right!  Everybody was painting them white:)

The main cabinets are painted SW Mindful Gray.

The fireplace in the LR

Pretty Circa Lighting chandelier in the DR

Since the ceilings are 9 ft I could only do a flush mount fixture in the LR....but I love how it looks

I used ceramic or porcelain tiles in the secondary bathrooms to keep costs down and went with marble in the master and guest bath.

I already posted about the furniture and fabrics for this house....but I went over and taped it out and realized I had to tweak a few things....no worries it's like that "measure twice cut once" kind of thing!

New plan....

Old Plan.  Not enough space from the entrance going towards the kitchen.....

Hope you guys are having a great week....I am trudging ahead.  I gotta tell ya....every time I see a small bug the size of a tick or if something brushes my leg I have a minor freak out:)

The struggle is real people!

Hi Shari,

Love it. Our layout with the back door, row of cabs behind and island is almost identical. We went with grey island and I got a Dutch door! Love it!

Congrats on progress. We finished kitchen last fall... still haven't posted pics of entire kitchen. Laura

I saw this and thought you might like it.
Someone needs to read this today..is it you??

Me: Hello God.
God: Hello...
Me: I'm falling apart. Can you put me back together?
God: I'd rather not.
Me: Why?
God: Because you're not a puzzle.
Me: What about all the pieces of my life that fall to the ground?
God: Leave them there for a while. They fell for a reason. Let them be there for a while and then decide if you need to get any of those pieces back.
Me: You don't understand! I'm breaking up!
God: No, you don't understand. You're transcending, evolving. What you feel are growing pains. You're getting rid of the things and people in your life that are holding you back. The pieces are not falling down. The pieces are putting in place. Relax. Take a deep breath and let those things you no longer need fall down. Stop clinging to pieces that are no longer for you. Let them fall. Let them go.
Me: Once I start doing that, what will I have left?
God: Only the best pieces of yours.
Me: I'm afraid to change.
God: I keep telling you: YOU'RE NOT CHANGING! YOU'RE BECOMING!
Me: Becoming, Who?
God: Becoming who I created you to be! A person of light, love, charity, hope, courage, joy, mercy, grace and compassion. I made you for so much more than those shallow pieces you decided to adorn yourself with and that you cling to with so much greed and fear. Let those things fall off you. I love you! Don't change! Become! Don't change! Become! Become who I want you to be, who I created. I'm gonna keep telling you this until you remember.
Me: There goes another piece.
God: Yes. Let it be like this.
Me: So... I'm not broken?
God: No, but you're breaking the darkness, like dawn. It's a new day. Become!! Become who you really are!!"

I don't know who anonymous is, but that is great!!

The details, in the house, are simply amazing. The home will be thoroughly enjoyed by this family!!

I'd jump too, every time, if I felt a bug on me if I had been through what you went through. YIKES!!

Thanks for the post..great as always!!

I notice that you often choose porcelain or ceramic tile to save money in some of the bathrooms. I hope you'd consider a post on choosing porcelain or ceramic tiles. Which is better for floors/counters/showers/etc; what type of finish; can both be used in same room, etc. I know I won't be able to afford marble but love the look for my new bath and would appreciate your guidance. Thank you for all your great posts!

Always enjoy reading your posts. Beautiful work and projects! Can you please post the paint colors on the walls ? I very much relate to your personal situation. Trust me, time heals all wounds and best is yet to come. You are a sweet-heart. Stay well!

Beautiful project! Are you able to share what the black (or dark green?) cladding on the fireplace surround is? Looks like the same material was used for the flush hearth as well. Thank you! Kristin
