ONE ROOM CHALLENGE SPRING 2019 FINAL REVEAL

Stick a fork in me because I'm done....cooked and ready to carve.....the One Room Challenge is over.

Time for the reveal.  For six weeks every time I mention this people keep saying "what do you win?".  I like to say that the winner is my sister because when you get a text like this.... all the hard work and complaining is worth it:)

Here is my sister after she won restaurant of the year for Sandy Springs, Georgia.  14 years in business and SO much hard work.  I hope this is your year baby sister!

And special thanks to Linda.....:)

I could do a lot of explaining but let's just get to it and save all of that for another post!  You guys have waded through all the teaser shots....exciting images of painting walls....haha.

A quick before of the Living Room

After

Without gettin all wordy....Mark Sikes was my inspiration....soft, pretty, traditional, and timeless.

Of course she can't quit walking around admiring her beautiful new spaces! Great job again and I hate having my picture taken, too, but no way you look like a grandmother!

Absolutely beautiful! I'm obsessed with the dining room and that light fixture! I can see why your sister keeps walking around and staring!

STUNNING!!! Of course you did it again! I love every single thing. You have the best reveal posts with the simple before and afters of each vignette in the room so we can just scroll through and enjoy your amazing work. Hopefully, you will share more sources soon though! Congrats on another beautiful ORC. I just can't believe that is the same sofa and dining room chairs! I love that you used Mark Sikes for inspiration but showed us all how to do it on a budget. Bravo!

Well done to you. Mark Sikes will be very proud and so he should be. An excellent job. I hope your sister enjoys spending time in those spaces because all that is missing is people having a good time. Excellent

This is absolutely gorgeous! You knocked it out of the park! As for your grandmother, she must have been beautiful.

Sherry, you are fabulous! I love, love, love that you did the One Room Challenge for your sister -- she deserves to come home to a beautiful home every day and you provided that for her. You never cease to amaze me with your work. Thank you!

What an amazing transformation, I can't believe it is the same house! You are so talented, and it really shows here because you may have had a limited budget, but it looks like no expense was spared.

Of course it’s gorgeous, that’s no surprise! Kudos on expanding one room into three. I love them all.
You look nothing like a grandmother, but I completely understand. I see my grandmother in the mirror all the time!

From Ho-Hum to Ahhh-Ha in only 6 weeks is quite an accomplishment. Everyone should be as fortunate to have a sister like you. Take a bow because you deserve it.

Bravo! You always amaze and this is no exception. I love the blue and the rattan in the living room. It's all so tastefully done. Every detail. Lucky sister.

Those rooms are stunning and so are you! I think these rooms are the point of the ORC - creating rooms with beautiful design and extremely livable spaces, and working with a realistic budget. Outstanding job!!!

THIS LOOKS AWESOME! It was a THREE room challenge! I feel like it has your sister's personality by keeping some of her antiques and accessories. So great that you have brought her so much happiness with your talent!

Carolyn A said...

It's amazing to me how a designer can take such plain boring rooms and make them so beautiful yet still livable. You have such a talent! Lucky her to have a sister like you!

Dian Owens said...

Wow! What a beautiful transformation for your sister! (Tears in my eyes.) Susie had some lovely pieces to work with and you brought them all to their glory! Those rattan pieces are classic! And, three rooms! Tell me about the big tacks bordering the office ceiling. Subtle elegance! (I can't seem to stop using exclamations.) Sherry, PLEASE publish a design book!

Well done! I love that you kept the drop leaf tables - they look great in the newly redesigned rooms! It's all just great - the leopard pillows, the blue and white, the stripes on stripes, the bamboo etagere...I can't decide what I like best.

Deborah said...

WOW!!! Too bad there isn't a prize you've got my vote. I adore every little bit of it.

It was so good to have you doing ORC this year! You are missed when you are are not in it. Really. It's always fun seeing what you design for your own family as well as other clients.

I “ditto” what everyone else has said! Truly a magical transformation, every detail is perfection. I can hardly believe you had a small budget because it doesn’t look like it. So, Sherry, can I be your next One Room Challenge? You can do anything you want, I trust you completely!
But seriously, congratulations on a top notch job, now please, take a bow! Now I’m goi g back to study those 3 rooms again and again!

P.S. Don’t tell anyone, but you are the winner in my book!

First of all SHERRY, You look amazing. You are amazing. I LOVE everything you do. Love your Humor, please keep it. Your sister has a beautiful, comfortable space to come home to after those long arduous days at the Restaurant.
You are so talented. I love every single detail of this space. Three for One, WOWZA! I've noticed you always seem to do that. You go above and beyond on every design. I'm going to be coming back to this post again and again.

Wow, you nailed it! I can’t stop looking at the photos and want to move in with your sister, lol! I LOVE the collected look you achieved. You have inspired me to do some much need updating in my own house. I’ll be copying a lot of this!

The Grey Dove Cottage said...

Gorgeous, and very Mark Sikes, you nailed his aesthetic; light, stripes on stripes, blue and white porcelains, hint of Asian, traditional mixed with contemporary, collected style layered with texture. Incredible difference between before and after, I think that is the fun of the ORC, seeing the metamorphosis from beginning to end - inspiring.

Nina J said...

Absolute perfection! I love everything you do but this is just incredible. Don’t mind me while I plagiarize the heck out of it! Let’s hear the skinny on the 2 wicker chairs. Just for looks, or are they actually comfortable and sturdy enough for every day use? I’ve always been a huge fan of Mark’s work, so my own living room is slowly evolving in that direction but I’ve been stuck on the chair situation. They just might be the ticket I’m looking for. Thoughts?

Stunning! I adore everything you did in these spaces for your sister, I keep scrolling back and forth finding more that I love each time. I agree with whoever it was that suggested you write a design book...it would be a bestseller for sure.. also love that you operated on a budget..obtainable design for those of us that don’t have unlimited funds! Great job, love everything you do. Lastly, you look beautiful in your picture..and definitely not grandma...

All the spaces are so beautiful. I love that you used her old furniture in the dining room but it looks 1000% different - fresher and so pretty. I love the fireplace styling and the stripes on stripes. Great job once again!
