Week 3....tick....tick....tick.
20 Designers. 6 Weeks. One room start to finish.
Crikey between the ORC and Project Design I am in high gear right now.
This post is going out a little late because I went to our neighborhood Women's Club last night [after NOT going for about 10 years] and there may have been some wine served. Whew....drinking on a school night.
It was a fashion show and I might have done some "heckling"......just saying.
I know....shocking.
But darn that's a whole nother story:)
Let's discuss week 3.
I had been shopping online for a dining light fixture for weeks. Nothing was speaking to me. I wanted something different, rectangular and vintage.
Got out of my car at Scott's and ran right into this little beauty.
It was instant love.
Done.....look no more.
We went to Builders Surplus and bought some new bottom cabinets.
They got installed and I thought about staining them.
After experimenting [on the unused corner of the new butcher block countertop!] it was decided that painting was the way to go.
Benjamin Moore Kentucky Haze.
I ordered these lights from one of the ORC sponsors Wayfair.
Here is a progress shot....cabinets painted, wood planks up and lights installed.
Over by the fireplace we now have built in cabinets. After getting bids of $1700.00-2500.00 I was amazed at what a good job Brad [bunny husband] did with a base cabinet and some wood.
Boom! More money to spend on decorating.
This wall got some attention too!
Because we are on a budget....we voted to use 1/4 inch stain grade plywood. It was so much cheaper than the primed wood boards. We are only doing this wall which also wraps around into the kitchen where the cabinets are.
As with any design project you have to make decisions where to spend and where to save.
You are now all caught up.
And while your here please visit the other 19 crazies today and see what they have been up to!
