BEFORE AND AFTER

I have a little curb appeal for you today!  You remember how I went on and on about my outside paint color BM China White.

That it was the best white  absent of blue, yellow or any of those yucky undertones that can make you want to punch white in the face sometimes.

Here is Amy and Chris's house [Chris is my stepson].  They asked me for paint colors and well I was happy to shout out "BM China White" hands down...without a doubt....if you don't paint it that color then I will make fun of any other color you might choose.

Before it was yellow with black shutters.

Now she is sporting a whole new look with BM Kendall Charcoal on the shutters, the porch floors and BM Whythe Blue on the door.

Oh Mommie.....I want to paint my door this color so badly.  And I love that they kept the old brass hardware.

We cut Whythe Blue by about 75% to get a much lighter version for the ceiling.

They only moved in last fall and the house sits back from the street with a lot of mature trees surrounding.  I think the lighter color and the brighter blue door will help it get noticed and isn't that what we all want.....just to be seen:)

In other news....I have been shopping for a small table to go in front of a window seat.  Lord people there are very few small tables to be found.

Here is my inspiration picture.  I was going to have this one built for a million dollars but that pushed it slightly over budget.

I have been looking at flea markets for something that could be painted.

Here are a few contenders.
Pretty but a little small.

Perfect size....

Again...good size but needs painting.

Love the wooden top....

Gotta make a decision soon....

OK....just in case anyone out there has some info to share with me I am going to use this blog to shake it out of you.

I have posted many times about my dogs and the one who just recently had his spleen removed.
He is Zipper, my male sheepdog.  I had to return  him to GVS for 3 days because he could not keep any water down.  After all of the testing.......  it's  been diagnosed as a bad motility problem which means he has a hard time moving food through his body.

Apparently this was also the cause of his twisted stomach, inflamed spleen and constant bloating which have all cost me a small fortune.

So.....long story short....low fat diet, gas ex, and a medication everyday.  If anyone has had any experience with this complication....please share.

Desperate Mommie.

Scott's is coming up and I am one excited puppy.

Try posting on the Craigslist > Discussion Forums > Pets section.

A few years ago my dog was having medical issues that my vet could not figure out. I posted the issue on the pets forum and someone had pinpointed the problem within a day. At that time there were quite a few vet techs reading. I have not been on there for years -- but it's worth a shot.

It's also a great spot to find out about pet food recalls.

Yey BM CHINA WHITE!!!! It looks so beautiful on your stepson's house!!!! Perfect! Their lucky they had you to consult! Like the first table the most but might not be the right size, so good luck with choosing Sherry. As for your little one, don't have much experience on that, but I hope he feels better soon...

Love the colors of your step sons home, Wythe blue is a favorite of mine, so soothing and easy to live with. I love a yellow house, but even this yellow loving gal will have to admit this is much better!! Sorry about your fur baby, I have no ideas here. Good luck with your poor puppy, xo Kathysue

God, i just saw the coolest small round wooden table at goodwill for $40.00! It had these cool curvy legs too. I wish i could buy it and beam it to you!
Sorry about your doggie's motility problem... sounds expensive and no fun,,, poor baby...
The house looks 80 billion times happier and more current and fresh in that perfect white with the yummy blue door. The ceiling of the porch is heavenly too!

Kendall Charcoal and Wythe Blue are two of my favorite BM colors. Now I'll have to check out China White 'cause I'm going to bleach and pickle my kitchen floors and I need a few colors to sample. I think it's the same color you used on yours, right?

Sorry about your puppy. What a drag. I've always felt like throwing a bunch of money at the problem will fix it and, sadly, it's not the case. I hope you can find something that helps.

I so want to go to Scott's, but the 4 hr drive holds me back. Love Wythe blue! How about a game table for the space? Hope your pooch will be feeling better soon!

So sorry your pup is having a hard time. I hate it when dogs get sick because they're so noble about it and that breaks my heart. On the up side, that paint makeover is killing me hard. Super fabulous!

There is a table almost identical to that on CL, but round. Search the Atlanta Craigslist for "Berkeley Table Side Round." Saw it today and remembered your post.

Blessings to you and your furry baby.

Oh that Zipper....what
a face! The things we
do for love, right? But
they are oh so worth it!

I love Amy and Chris's
house. The exterior
looks so fresh and modern
and does, indeed, stand
out from the crowd!!!

When we lived in a
Victorian house, we also
painted the porch ceilings.
Love that touch!

Hello!
I just came across your blog and read your story about your dog. We also had a problem with our dog and her stomach with the food not going through her quick enough. She also could not keep anything down because she had a parasite. Once that problem was taken care of, she still had a touch tummy, but we were told to feed her a low-residue dog food, like Eukanuba. Unsure of the spelling - sorry. It helped her a great deal. We got her from a shelter when we lived in Missouri and she recently passed away at the age of 17! I understand about the costs! We had taken our little Mitzi to the University of Missouri vet school for her diagnosis. Hope this information helps! Zipper is adorable!

Just when I thought I was so over blue paint in all it's light and dark saturated incarnations. Bam. That Wythe Blue is killing me softly. Excellent color choices - immediate face lift. But just so we're clear, I will never ever no not ever in a million be over blue & white porcelain.

Katie Nicoll @ Clark Adams said...

Compared to the previous color , this one's much more noticeable. Aside from light blue, a striking yellow is also a good choice. It's really important to invest on front doors and make them appealing, for the very reason that they create a lasting impression on your visitors and passers by.

Hi there! Wondering if you painted the trim a lighter white or if you continued through with the China White on the trim. I'm about to use this color combination and hung up on the trim. Thanks so much for your help! So glad I found a picture of this house on Pinterest. I was on the fence about China White and you helped me make my decision! :)
