ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 2

Yeah....Yeah.....I know.

I should have done this last night but well...in typical Sherry fashion I kept getting distracted and soon it was 6:30 and my mind was mush.  Time for wine....and then all bets are off.

Let me proclaim that I am a morning person.  That being said....... distraction knows no time or boundaries for me.

But....it is Wednesday and before noon I might add so in my world I am ahead of the game.

Where were we....oh yeah.  The ORC.

We left off with my room when I first decorated it 20 years ago.  Now a few people got confused and thought that it still looked like that.

Un....#notachanceinhell

I don't want to bore you with how many times I have changed it, plus my nephew lived in it for 3 years while attending college.

The main reason I decided to try and decorate my own room for this challenge is so I would commit to something and finish it once and for all.

Who am I kidding :)

I renovated the bathroom about 3 years ago when Taylor graduated and moved out.

At the same time I painted the room white.

I pulled this together with items I already had.

 And.....couldn't commit to move forward.

I changed it again.

I was semi happy and then we had the leak in the kitchen.

Everything got moved out and I had the opportunity to have all of my floors painted white.

Oh Hell Yes.

I know what you thinking so please keep it to yourself.  Why wasn't this b#@*h satisfied.

If I could answer that.... then I would be on the cover of TIME magazine with the heading " Girl Knows Answer To True Happiness".

OK...one of the things that drives me crazy is that black plug you see on the bottom left hand corner.  That little bugger is the key to my happiness.  For some reason if it is not plugged in we have no cable TV.

Apparently I was not home when the cable guy made that decision.  A few times the cleaning people unplugged it and I am running all over the house like a lunatic screaming that the "freaking cable is out again"....only to discover what had happened.

Electrician is priority here.

That brings us to here.  My sister begged me for the previous bedding.....so I happily turned it over.  Maggie....no comments  about this please.  #I'macutyou.

If you think this post is a stall....you might be correct.  Just saying.

Promise to have the plan by the next installment of the ORC.

Being the worst client ever  I might have to sit myself down and threatened to "fire me" if I don't get on board.

Love that your as fickle as I am, never satisfied. It's like women and their hair with us decorators, eh? Good luck with the plan-Im guessing you work better under more pressure than this..you'll show us all off I'm betting!

you must really love your sister.

You never let me down with the humor - I loved seeing the various looks this room has gone through - despite the stall. We have a plug like that too and it drives me crazy.

I am the worst. Funny how these decisions paralyze the folks who are perfectly comfortable making the same decisions for others. I'm currently facing a primed piece of furniture and I thought I was painting orange but when I saw it primed I changed to wanting it white and now I just don't know. Good luck. You are freaking funny.

Too funny! It's been two years and I still don't have a plan for my almost 4 year-old's room.
I would hate the black plug too.

PS - I love the bird pillow. Is that still available?

Oh my god, you're so funny... i liked the coral and the black and white striped rug... and all those pretty colors, that architectural piece too.. It'll be cool that you get to do your own house, because when you're finished, it'll be all yours!

Hate the "cable guy". They are always doing things wrong. I can't live without tv, so I hope that gets straightened out so you can have tv and no ugly cord. I usually have a glass of wine at the same time as you, cheers!

Waiting for you to post makes us all want it more...you're a genius Sherry! That rug looks familiar:) Looking forward to your full on attack of that room.

I know you hear this all the time but you are so freakin hilarious. I am totally using this: #Imacutyou. Also, I'm totally afraid of commitment in my own (design) life too...

Been awhile, but I can ALWAYS count on you for a good laugh (not at your expense, of course, my dear).

I'm glad I'm not the only crazy one around here.

If I was your sister I would beg you for that bedding too...really cute. And all of your previous incarnations are down right adorable.

Gotta say gives me some satisfaction that awesome designers like yourself have trouble committing too. I thought maybe it was just me (non-designer person) with no mad skillz. :)

I didn't know about a stall week, thanks for teaching me the ropes! Pressure is on for next week - good stuff coming our way, I'm sure!

Sherry, you make me laugh ... I knew when I saw that room last week it couldn't STILL be that way!! I think it is therapy to move/change things constantly. That's what I tell my family!! xo

Wow...now if your sister could give ME all your old bedding, I would be finished with MY project :)

Here's an idea, I'll do whatever you decide. The rooms look very similar, but somehow yours will end up looking amazing. By the way, the cable plug totally reminds me of a scene from Airplane :).

I kind of love all of the looks the room has had. I'm interested to see how you're going to change it.

I love that coral bedding....makes me want some coral in my house, somewhere! You are too funny...glad to hear I'm not alone with not being able to make up my mind with my own house! I know it will be fabulous, whatever you come up with.

Anxious to see how this room evolves. Hope you don't keep us waiting long. And oh!! Love those white painted floors!!

i'm in the process of transitioning out much of my traditional french pieces and moving to a modern farmhouse/scandinavian/mid century kinda thing. {is there even a name for that???}

this is what happens when you love it all. it's a vortex of indecision!

Surely, this room is very cozy and comfortable.

That was funny! I love that I found someone as insane as I am. If a room was perfect, life would be boring!!

So understand the procrastination process, changing your mind and of course, the "generosity" with your sister - can't wait to see it this time - know it will be fabulous!
