Here we go.....Scott's

I hate to say this but sometimes I go to Scott's and I feel a little bored because I will see the same things every month.  [Whew I might get some hate mail with that statement!]  Which is a good thing in some ways because if I don't get something....I can usually find a version of it next month.

I don't know if it was because of Christmas coming up but everyone seemed to have plenty of stuff!  Bad for me [spending wise]......good for them.  I did not get to go on Thursday because of my bank install which sucked.  I like to be there when the doors open!!!!  Like shopping the day after Christmas with my nose to the door......

So let's get down to it.

Love the old andirons...They would look great with some birch logs on them and throw in a few branches of magnolia and BAM!
OK...cute metal lockers but the bad thing is that you could see the mess.  Cause I don't know about you but I hang burlap sacks in my closets?????

If you don't like this pillow then we can't be friends.

Pink and blue......
Another little hottie......

You know we love this pattern.....

Um...hello!  Love the shape.

And this shape.

Same vendor.  Loving all of these...

Love this quote from The Help.

Oh but I wanted this little number.....

Probably came out of a home in Miami...but I am loving this rug.

Maybe the same house...I don't know.  What is it about orange and brass......

More brass.....but wait....the next picture.....

This is my exact chandelier that I have in my attic.  I used to have it in my DR and took it down about 4 years ago.  I thought about putting it back up.....but just not sure I am ready to go back there yet.  Even after I bought it 20 years ago...I always thought it was too big for my space.  Note to self....I can see that chandeliers do not hold their value....I paid twice that.  Was I smoking crack?????

I have more pictures but need to do another post.

I did want to add one more thing.

I have been curling my hair with a curling iron lately.  So far I have burned my arm...seriously it was about 2 inches long and turned black and then pealed off.  Hurt like the dickens.  Big scar.  I have about a dozen small burns on my fingers and around my hairline....but then I burned my forehead.....

Yeah...as my friend Maria said when she saw this...I might need parental supervision moving forward.  WTF...I have no business using a gadget that is clearly made for young people.....or just people who must have way more coordination than I do.  Some friends had suggested I use a visor to prevent further damage to my skin.

Suggestions?

Why do my eyes look different sizes?

This will look good through the holiday season.  Throw on a holiday outfit...burn you head [the latest accessory] and off you go.

Take care now.....stay away from really hot things.

Just tell people you were Harry Potter for Halloween :) But, seriously, be careful with that thing!

Okay... please tell me that you know the name of the vendor with the little ottoman cubes that really aren't cubes! I want those blue ones... bad! Any idea what the price was or who was selling them??

For even more forehead burn satisfaction, use a flat iron. The pain is exquisite.

Love the ottomans. Next time you go to Scott's, please tell Mr. Scott to take his show on the road. Like Hope & Crosby but with funky wooden objects and pillows. I'd buy.

What a fun looking shop! Sorry about your head!

You are crazy gurl! Well, for the record, I saw some new things at Scotts this time. Thank you. Love the orange & brass and must use your suggestion of birch logs w/ magnolia.

I hope your face gets better. My eyes look different sizes too, btw.

Okay, Sherry, you made me spit my coffee out laughing. So sorry about your head. I can totally relate. I cannot use curling irons or curlers or anything hot near my head - I would kill myself. I can't even blow dry my hair correctly. Oh, and my eyes are definitely different sizes.

Love your finds. Might need to find out exactly where those suzani and rug pillows are (building, etc.) because I'm planning on coming down to Scott's next month. Yes, I've got a girls trip planned. Yeah!

The pillows from rugs, the upholstered stools, the orange credenza, swoon! And curling irons, not so much, especially when in addition to curling they burn...I must say the visor idea seems like a concept! Or maybe a hat to match your holiday outfits, pulled down so as to look jaunty!

Sherika,
Love your post on Scott's. Donna bought those stools! I thought the selections were great this month! The gal friends filled two SUV's with "stuff" that will make their lives more beautiful.
Your hair really looked nice on Sat., but all I'm going to say about that appliance is that I think it was created by an angry man. Find something else for your beautiful locks that is not so difficult to manage. Peace Out.

You are a hoot! I just found your blog and am feeling rather empathetic for your curling iron problemo... literally a hot mess situation. Love those stools!

Love that first lumbar-type pillow...beautiful.

Curling irons can be tricky. Damn they scare me..hot stick of metal so close to your face...but we gotta have them. Men are so lucky.

Have a good one....

Does your curling iron not have a little piece at the end? I had a friend who had the real professional curling iron and I burned myself every time on that darn thing - because I wanted to touch the end!! Ouch!!
Back to Scott's, I second Tiffany, I would fly down just to go to Scott's for a day or two. The bar carts and the ottomans got me!

Sherry...have fun at Scott's! Yeah, those curling irons should come with warning labels. I usually burn the tops of my ears! Spazz alert. Not quite as bad as the time I was standing up and using an eyelash curler. I lost my balance (spazz again) and pulled out EVERY last eyelash on my right eye. HA!

Kelly said...

Oh.....my.....word!!! You should do stand-up!! You have me laughing so hard. I love how you're "keeping it real". That took guts to show. I bet you have to make sure people don't think you're a battered woman. Just tell them it's Clarol's fault! And....for the record. I say the same thing about my eyes whenever I see them in a picture. We are our own worst critic. Thanks for the afternoon laughs and for the fun tour of Scott's that I missed.

Ouch! Time to get out those old hot rollers you have hidden away. : )

I am in love with the tea cart. You always find the most amazing things. Can we do a field trip next month?!

I'm praying that Jesus will bring me that orange cabinet for Christmas. You know, after He saves the kids blah blah.

Cindy said...

Funny as anything... you are totally banned from curling irons, it's just that simple, it's pink sponge rollers for you from now on!
And, we can't be friends if i don't like that pillow? Ok, ok, i like it... I love the way with the andirons, you just threw out... "birch logs" and some greenery, and done. I was like, wow, amazing, just like that you had those old andirons looking like a million dollars... That's natural talent girl!

LOL! I did the same damn thing with my curling iron...more than once.

Sherry, I had to giggle at your experience with the curling iron because I have been there and done that! I don't know which is worse..the curling iron or the hot glue gun. I always enjoyed Scotts when we lived in Atlanta.

Step away from the curling iron! It's not worth it : ) Love to see all the great stuff but it kills me that I can't go buy it! xo

I need to know which booth those ottomans are in!

You're curling iron escapade made me think about myself in high school. I once burned my neck so bad, that my mom thought I had a hickey! That was tough to explain!!!

Gosh, so want to go. Wish I lived closer. Sorry about your head.

Sherry, I love the trips to Scott's. Since I can't go, myself, I love seeing what you saw when you were there.

And OHMYWORD, I feel like my eyes look two different sizes in pictures, too. What's up with that?

The pillows are fabulous and those Suzani…go back and buy them please! As for the curling iron I didn’t even know they still sold those perhaps you should try hot rollers? Less painful!

I had a client send me a picture of that bar cart after she had already left - such a tease. I would have totally bought it (she said it was $299). It's just like the one I found for a client here in B'm (for $99)! But still a rockin deal at $299. Love it!!

Hi Sherry, we can definitely be friends, because I'm all over those pillows. And the orange painted sideboard credenza thing.
Your burn stories do make for a good laugh. Sorry...

I burn my cheek...really attractive...I have a scar on my left cheek...in front of my ear...my girlfriend told me she thought I was trying to self mutiliate! I can relate!

Have a Great Turkey Day!!
