What cha think???

Whoop Whoop...it is FRIDAY!  I think it came fast this week.  I had to put together a presentation for a commercial job [bank], and can I tell you how hard that was???  I mean there are NO pillows in a bank.  Just a crapload of "solidly" [translation: boring] type fabrics and lamps.  I did pitch some pretty artwork, but I was dyeing to put some pillows in there [well maybe I did sneak one in a lobby].  Perhaps they won't really use it but it made the presentation look so much better :)

Got a little sneak peek of a few things I have been batting around in my house.  Batting...think kitty playing with a little toy.  They are always ever so gentle when they do it huh?  Sometimes they do a summersault in the middle...I do the same thing when I think I might have it right.  I make a lot more noise, and it certainly is not as graceful.  Visual.....

Geez...see how a little word like batting can get me off course.

Had these shutters.  They have been everywhere but I am thinking they are permanent now.  Since I actually made HOLES in my freshly painted walls.....is that hard for anyone else?  This is actually the first thing you see when you walk through my front door.

Directly across from this.....look how I am recycling a post....I am clever like that.  Which by the way...I already changed out the pillow.  Cut the crap...you should suspect that behavior.

Also....changed out the chairs.....before.....[these are my DR chairs].

To these...for now anyway...at least for the week :)
Kind of modern.....
Ha!  Lets count the different styles here....um....modern, beachy [lanterns], retro [sconces], frenchy [the pictures and the white iron container], kind of shabby chic with the burlap....and Ikat.  My head is spinning.  Oh well...who am I kidding....I'll probably change it all again soon.  Just playing with shit :)  Fun.
Love the planter that I got at Scott's.
Just leaned these in a corner of the dining room.
New pillows on the sofa.....

Which gives me some more color from the shutters.
And a tiny bit of color with the beads from Scott's.

OK...that is enough about me.  Gotta go make my bed.  Don't forget about the giveaway......it's a doozy.

And if you need some good reading this weekend House of Fifty just came out!!!  There are some great articles to read from many bloggers that you know.  Janell has done a wonderful job of including something for everyone.

I absolutely could not love the colors in this cover shot any more.  Except if they were mine of course.

Sherry - It looks amazing!! It's a terrific and I love the edge the sconces bring. Think those white painted floors make all the difference too.

I think you said you got the beads at an outdoor vendor at Scotts. Do you remember which building? Hope to see you Tues.

I love it Sherry! I REALLY love the planter!! And the prints.....so straight! I could NEVER do that! One or two would be out of line and drive me nuts!

The little tease of the pillows is gorgeous! Can't wait to see more!

Hellooo, Miss Sherry! I cannot imagine how hard it would be to design for a bank! Good artwork seems to be THE place to focus. Love your new vignette, most especially those sconces and the pretty green fern (and fiddle-leaf fig too). So contrast-y and cool. Eclectic is the bomb.

Love the shutters, love the lanterns, love the framed botanicals, love the planter, love the chairs, love the mix of stuff. I think it's totally great.

I might suggest that I'd like to see chairs with higher backs so the chair backs and table aren't at the same height but that suggestion might make me look like an asshole. But nonetheless, I think you're a woman with balls mixing up all that stuff and making it work.

Love the shutters - blue, green, black - love. And you know what else I love? That you reiterate to all of us that it's OK to do whatever the heck you want and enjoy it!! Your style is Sherry style.

Adore that vignette! Love the botanical frames and those sconces. You pull them off beautifully.

By the way, where did you get the birch branches? I look for them online and they can get very pricey. Do you have a source for more affordable ones?

Happy weekend, Sherry!

Oh man, those pictures were yummy. I love the impact of the grouping of the framed pressed flowers, at least i think they're pressed flowers. And that big chippy piece of pottery is soooooo good. Everytime i see your stripes it makes me want some, just can't figure out where to put them. And the bright green from the plants with the black and white and everything else is such a total visual treat!

OK, I know I've asked before...but once again would you just write my blog? Your so witty and creative...just make me feel boring. Enough about me already...I love your shutters. Just brought a couple of pairs of some really old green ones into the shop...I mean really old. They are great. Just need you in Little Rock to buy them and place them with a client. Have a great weekend. Mona

Your entrance is beautiful and I would imagine sets the stage for what to expect in the rest of the home. One of my biggest issues with my home is that is really doesn't have a proper entrance...

Thanks for mentioning House of Fifty on your blog as well, I'm honored! Janell

I am liking those modern chairs in there...looks cool. But do you really lay beads around your house as an accessory? They look great in the pic.

You get 5 stars - all the time! You have such a great design eye my friend.

Your botanicals are lovely and birch trees are always part of Scandinavian interiors and hearts(!). Were did you find them anyway?

I have not forgotten you. We are still on vacation in Oregon. Diving in sand dunes and riding horses on the beach. Summer is good!

Love to you,

Mon
