Update and giveaway....

OK...I know this has happened to some of you.  You think you are moving forward, when in fact your brain is moving faster than your common sense?  Let me see if I can explain.  It was a while back when I showed you my guest bath.

Here it is if you forgot.
I was thinking about changing the wallpaper...it has been there for 6 years.  I still like it, but as usual it is all over the place, which makes you get tired of things.   Really, I just never accessorized it.  One thing is I have this fear of nailing something into wallpaper.  It is a real fear my friends, so no snickering.  Not like my fear of spiders....but a fear none the less.

But then I thought...."where does it end people".  Do I just keep changing things and spending money until I am homeless and wallpaper is least of my problems?  Come on.

So I stared at it...real hard and said "what would I tell a client?".  Well by God, I would say "come on, let's just fix it up a little, and then you will love it"!!

Which leads me to how ADD I can really get.

Pulled into Hancock's to get something to trim for the shower curtain.  Paid and drove home.  Only to realize that I left my clients fabric bag on the countertop.  Back to Hancock's.  Home.  Pull down shower curtain and start this.
I am in my manic stage by now.  Eyes twitching....a slight tick because I am getting inspired.  Start ironing this on and realize that I miscalculated and had to drive BACK to Hancock's to get more.  Get there and realize that I left my wallet at home.  Yep.  I can't remember how much it is so I start hunting down change all over the place.  Purse, floor of car....next step a can outside the door begging.  I DO NOT want to drive home again!!!!!

I manage to scrape together about $2 in change.  Go in....$1.29.  Whew.  Geez...why was my wallet out of my purse you might think.  I couldn't figure that part out.

Get home and finish.  3 trips later.  Yeah I know you want to see...but this is known in blogland as the tease.....later.

On to the giveaway.....You might think I have a lot of these but the truth is I think they are fun.  And...I like putting them together with things I have.  Leftover fabric and such.

So here goes.

There is a little under 2 yards of fabric, A black calligraphy brush, white and black chalk, 3 vintage keys, alphabet flash cards, and 4 old black and white pictures.

You know the drill.....but let's see.  Besides becoming a follower.....you need to clean out your linen closet.  Seriously is that not the one closet that can get messy faster than I can rip down a shower curtain and start ironing.....:)

Enjoy your Saturday.....Sheriky

We were supposed to be leaving for Ocean City today, but because of Irene we are home. And while my husband was giving our daughter a bath, I really did clean out the linen closet (b/c I had to get the old towels in the back of the closet for whenever we get down to the beach). I love your giveaways and the little pile of goodies you put together. And you always manage to make me laugh with your stories...can't wait to see the guest bath update and what you did.

OK! That fabric would look fantastic with the yellow thing I already have going on in my family room. Also I could whip up some kind of DIY project with those etchings :) M.

Ok, so i get it, after your third trip, you became totally ocd, had a crazed look in your eyes, and people were kind of keeping a little space between you and them. I'm surprised that in the rush you didn't also open the car door and slam yourself in the forehead and drop or lose your keys - I've done that...
When we get crazy creative, there can be injuries involved.
I also love that you gave yourself your own advice...

These type giveaway is quite fantastic. The wallpaper is great and it look rather nice.

The one thing I keep telling myself when I am doing something for a client is that although I personally may be inundated with a particular design trend my clients may not be, so I try to present all things to them.

Its my lil manta sometimes.

i LOVE your giveaways. so fun! I laughed reading your story. I was in a similar situation yesterday but over food (usually its house stuff)...I bought figs at trader joes. fresh ones because I was curious. never made anything with fresh figs before...drove home, looked for a recipe, saw a fresh fig and strawberry tart and had to make it...no strawberries no hazelnuts in my cupboard...off to store #2 - found strawberries but no hazelnuts...dropped off berries and whipping cream at home...go to 3rd store only to find I left my purse at home...found $6 in quarters in car, bought hazelnuts and finally drove home. only to discover the "hands on time" in recipe is 3.5 hours. what??!! but I had my hazelnuts and my fresh figs. I made it and we had dessert at 10:30 PM last night. with a much needed glass of wine!! ha! what is wrong with us??!! all the while I thought at least I can turn this into an interesting blog post!! hope you are having a lovely weekend!! xo, Tessa

Crazy as this must sound, but we do not have even 1 linen closet in this house. I hate it but the builders never built one and when we looked at the house it didn't seem to be that big of a deal. Well I was wrong, its a huge deal!

I put all the sheets in a wicker stool with removeable lid and all the towels on a shelf. Grrrr in my next life I will have a huge linen closet!

Great giveaway, love the black and white pictures!

I put my sheet sets inside one of the matching pillow cases and stack them in the linen closet. I learned that from another blog - can't remember which one or I would absolutely give credit to that smart person!!

Love the items you picked for this giveaway. You are so generous.
