If you do not subscribe to this one you are truly missing out. The May cover was one of my all time favorites. See for yourself!
I am so drooling over Kay Douglas's house on Lake Raburn. Kay has been featured in many publications including House Beautiful and Traditional Home. These photo's shot by Mali Azima really showcase Kay's incredibly fun style. I am posting a few more...but I don't want to give it all away....
She uses just enough color!
How cool is this room....
Here is another home showcased this month. This one was photographed by Erica George Dines and is an incredible home on Lake Martin in Alabama. A few pictures.
Holy Christmas...could you just die???? I am sure that the views are incredible. I just want to sit there every morning and have my coffee.....dream :)
Ahhhhh...beautifully edited. Love the walls, the bench, the rug, the door, the switch plates for the lights...you get my drift right?
Ok...one more gorgeous home for you to drool over....
Jimmy Stanton's home in Madison, Georgia again photographed by the talented Erica George Dines. I could not find a web site for Erica [photographer] but I worked with her about 8 years ago and she is one of the best.
Yummy...I love his rustic style.
Awesome gallery.
And this kitchen is one of my all time favorites. I would not change a thing. You must check out Jimmy's home furnishings store on the west side called Stanton Home Furnishings. It is the best...I shop there quite a bit, and every time I go it is full of more cool stuff. And you know we love "stuff".....
I could show you more because this months issue is full of wonderful pictures. If you don't live in Atlanta you can subscribe here. They also have a facebook page. I know it sounds like I am being paid to do this....but I am not. I just think that since there are not as many shelter publications anymore if I know of a good one I want to share.
The movers come tomorrow morning to move EVERYTHING out of my house. Yes...you read that right. EXCEPT for my master bedroom. I was going to go to a hotel but the thought of being cramped in there with my 2 dogs was more than I could bare. I have decided to stay home...I have outside access from my bedroom. I will just move my coffee maker in there and camp. Hey my shelter family of 6 lives in the same size room!
They are also dismantling my whole kitchen.....what if they drop my granite???? Whoops.
Yep...this week should give me some good blogging material.....
I can also climb into my laundry room window for my computer. I have a laptop but most of my pics are on the big mac. Just another day in the life.......

The mag was my Sat night date and I prepared a post about the Madison home for next week! Isn't it lovely??!!
I hope things go well at the house next week. Im sure that staying home will make things a little more comfy for you and the dogs. Will be thinking of you!
Thanks for the eye candy today! Can't wait to see your kitchen! :) ~Crystal
These photos are making me smile! I love the wooden plank walls.... just perfect.
They DID drop my limestone countertop taking if off the truck right in my driveway--and it was a replacement for the one they screwed up by drilling the holes for the faucet, etc. in the wrong place, plugging it and installing, then pretending it was new piece of stone, then offering to replace it after I noticed it was plugged three weeks later....so all in all, they brought three pieces of limestone four times. Ah, I love kitchen renovation! Good luck and fingers crossed for no butterfingers.
just the thought of everything being moved out sounds frightening. while it'll be nice to have the new floors (and see someone working for YOU for a change!), but i start thinking about the amount of papers i have stacked around here and start hyperventilating. :( here's wishing you a wonderfully relaxing week in your bedroom! also, i just realized i'll be working with farmer d next week--what a coincidence!!
There are just so many things I like about the house! I love the rustic wooden plank walls, the beamed ceilings, just the combination of rustic and modern perfectly meshed together, so harmonious, so calming and so gorgeous.

I have always been a fan of ATL HOME.
I have a few copies here at the house.

Sherry, great rooms there. I don't subscribe to this one because it just seems to be full of more ads than articles. My husband's family is from Lake Rabun. Love the second home with all the beams. I could sit there for hours, too. Missed you yesterday, but I know you have a LOT on your plate now. Good luck this week.
Sherry,
I love AHL too.
Thank you for your nice comment!
Have a nice afternoon.

Sherry, I think this is a magazine I might have to subscribe too. I have found I am a west coast gal but I have an East coast sensability!!a lot of people in blogland think I am from the south and I was born and raised here in Calif.

I will have to check out the magazine ... the photos you posted are great, you are right! Ummm... the visual of you climbing through your window to get to your computer just made me laugh outloud. As usual, you are so funny! You never disappoint ;)
I love it all!
Good luck with the hotel. Hopefully the floors will be done quickly so you can get back to normal.
love Atlanta mag..it's one I feature frequently...so, you're camping out at your home..probably a little easier than taking the dogs to a hotel, as you say...
but, oh my, what a time it's going to be..at least the weather's warm...just think if it had been winter....yuck...

Every time I see a post like this I tell myself I'm going to subscribe to this publication, and then forget to. Today is the day. Right now. Hang in there. Can't wait to see your beautiful floors. Mona
I love this magazine! I think it's about time I subscribe.
I think they actually sell Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles at the bookstores here. I definitely need to pick up a copy. Good luck with holing up in your bedroom. Just adopt a bunker mentality, and you'll be fine. Can't wait to see the finished product and your Nicholas House room!
Atlanta couldn't be further away geographically from me but I am so happy to get a glimpse of these beautiful homes. Thanks for the tour. I'm seriously drooling.
So much goodness here! Definitely love the use of color here, so cheerful and perfect for Spring! Happy week :)
Sherry,
I loved this issue too! Love the pink and red!
Happy Week,
Amy
Hi Sherry,
I just discovered your blog after seeing your beautiful home in BHG! Love your home and your taste...looking forward to reading your blog on a regular basis. I don't suppose you have any information on the fabric on your blue floral pillows on your den sofa? I am in love with them and I'd love to track down that fabric.
Many thanks in advance! Karen
Karen...that fabric is by a line called Romo. The collection is called Tiku and it is called Kalika Adriatic. Hope that helps.
These are breathtaking! I love the large space and the gorgeous light that is coming in. Have a beautiful day, Kellie xx
So love those spaces! Your right, it is such a great mag. I wish you much luck with your floors. We lived through a major remodel (kitchen, addition, floors) three years ago. It lasted for almost 4 months. I had a 2 year old and a 5 year old. We made it, but I don't think I would do it again! It's amazing what all you can eat just with a microwave!! Who knew?
Can't wait to see your finished Nicholas House room! I posted about mine yesterday.
I poured over every page in this issue...loved every room. The white rooms with the pops of color in the first images are wonderful!!
The pictures are so cool!! I love all of them.
Good luck with your floors!!
xo
