Angie's blue doors!

Nicholas House is finished and I will have pictures next week.  I know you guys are probably saying...Nicholas House what again???????  I know...I know....you need some design stuff!

Remember Angie and her blue doors???
Here is the color of the house when she bought it.  Bad pink.....
But she had these turquoise doors and I loved them so.  Well after all it is my favorite color.
I told her she HAD to keep the color of the doors.  And...I put it out there in blogland and everyone was happy to give her an opinion.  Most people opted for them to stay.  I was smug when I gave her that info.  My opinion was to paint the house a dark gray with white trim and the blue doors.

Here is the outcome of a little house painting!
It is now gray with white trim and....

I am happy to show you the doors!

I love!  I want to paint my front door the same color.

I hope everyone has a great weekend....I know I can put one project to bed.....it was all worth it.  But I will tell you this...I did some serious sweating this week.  Throw away your shirt sweating.

The paint makeover is fabulous! I always love a gray house. And keeping the turquoise door the original color is a good idea because it's smashing and unexpected and I love everything smashing and unexpected!

Can't wait to see the finished Nicholas House makeover.

Have a wonderful weekend, Sherry!

That really turned out great, the pop of the turquoise is perfect!! When you talk about sweating I laugh because I remember a saying that was in a frame that said,"I am so glam I sweat glitter!" Please feel free to use this saying at your own discretion, lol, xo Kathysue

It all came out beautifully. My house is light gray w/a dark blue door. This weekend I'm picking out a medium-dark gray - that will also now cover the 1950's orangey brick the original owners didn't paint (long story) Anyway, love seeing this completed project.

I just found your blog and I love it!! The new gray paint with white trim is so beautiful and you were so right about staying with turquoise for the doors. I used to drive by a charming little housein new Canaan, CT. I watched as they slowly transformed their little cottage and they had the most dilapidated turquoise doors and carriage door... And when they were all done... They kept the turquoise doors... With fresh paint and a lot of sanding.

Goodness those doors look good with the grey paint. I grew up in New Mexico where there are a lot of turquoise painted doors -- and I just love them to pieces. This post reminds me of home...

Sherry, I am so glad to have found you. I have been devouring your blog for hours! Last night, it was all of the wedding stuff that kept me up and now this! I love it. So many great posts and I have loved reading about the shelter. What an amazing program. Thanks for the inspiration on all fronts.

I found your blog through Kristen Davis and I fear I may not get any work done today because of it!

Just wanted to toss my hat in the ring for turquoise doors. We painted the inside of our front door Lagoon by Martha Stewart and I love it! Angie definitely made the right decision. :)
