SOUTHEASTERN DESIGNER SHOWHOUSE AND GARDENS 2020 PART 3

Y'all it turns out I am lucky to be alive.....I went to the Infectious Doctor yesterday.  They think it is Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever which if goes untreated can be fatal.  They tested and I should have results next week.  It is definitely not Lyme....that test was negative.

It turns out that the ER Doc did prescribe the right meds so that was a good thing!  I am almost 5 days in on them and last night was the first night without a massive night sweat and it was the first morning without a pounding headache.

My rash has cleared up and I even walked Cami yesterday around the block.  Thats huge.....

Whew..... talk about a life interrupter.....

So I am trying to get back to work and a normal life.  I do have more pictures of the Southeastern Designer Showhouse.  It really was epic and I took tons of pictures....

I really wanted to share more pics of this spectacular bathroom....the stone work was amazing.

I was also impressed with this vanity....love the curves and also love the stain color.

A close up of the tile....so organic.

Two shower areas across from each other.....so fab.

I am going to give you a wonderful look of the main bedroom.....

Phoebe always brings it and nobody does neutrals better in my opinion.

Look at this bedding.....

The art....the layers was so pretty

The trim on the sofa....the use of dark wood.

The texture!

I know I shared the keeping area off the kitchen but I wanted to point out a few things.....

The art was hanging from the ceiling I think....and I liked it.  Plus look at the sofa...which is really a sectional that was split up.

Serious accessorizing.....which really brought the room together.

Below is the other piece of the sectional.....
Way to fill up a room....and I appreciated Melanie's use of color....we are so accustom to seeing the same colors and these were such unexpected surprise!

Thank you for all the comments.....and prayers.  It's true you never know when some weird thing will happen in your life.  It was just a week ago on Friday when all hell broke loose for me but with friends and good medical decisions in the ER.... I should fully recover.

Hopefully I will be back on Tuesday but blogger is acting up today [I'm sure I'm the last person who is still using this platform] and I am hoping I can figure out what is going on:(
Nobody helps with blogger anymore either......crap! #onaisland

Thank goodness you got to the hospital when you did. And got a smart doctor!
Do you think you got the tick from walking Cami?

So glad to hear that the medication is working and that you are on the mend. AND that you had a competent and caring doctor.
I know it's hard to be alone when you are ill, so take it easy on yourself this weekend.

So sorry for all that you have been going through. Sounds like a nightmare. Very happy that you are on the recovery side. You were missed but it is so more important to take good care of yourself.

Wishing for your continued recovery, Sherry! So scary to get that diagnosis but you are strong and I know you will come through this feeling great. Loved seeing the pics of the shophouse. You are so fortunate to live in Atlanta with showhouses available and that they went ahead with it during COVID. So inspiring and so great to see it with your comments to inform my eye. Thank you! xo

I feel like I have some odd psychic connection to you! We’re about the same age, have such similar taste, I don’t know, a lot of things—tho I am super introverted and you seem very outgoing. I’m sorry to hear about the Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, glad you were treated promptly! I also managed to become ill here in California during physical distancing. Takes talent!! Was sick for three weeks with fever, dry cough, lethargy, aches and strange itchy rashes and bumps. Of course the first thing I thought of was COVID-19, but I tested negative for that. When I got my COVID results back it occurred to me, hey, I had been walking around a new housing development being built in our area the weekend before my symptoms appeared (like you I’m a big walker) and I suddenly wondered if I could have picked up Valley Fever which is endemic in my part of the country. It’s a fungus that grows underground in the soil, if it’s suddenly disturbed, like at a construction site, it becomes airborne and you can breathe it in and become infected. I talked to my Dr, she had me tested and yeesh the result was positive :/ It can be serious, cause pneumonia and other things. In my case it appears my immune system is fighting it off successfully. All my symptoms went away and chest X-ray looks fine. But my doctor is going to keep a close eye on me for the next several months. Apparently the anti-fungal meds are horrible so they only put you on those if you can’t fight it on your own.

Can’t believe I got sick during shelter-in-place orders! Also how ironic to pick up an illness from my otherwise healthy walking habit. Life, it is funny sometimes.

Cheers and get well soon

Thank heaven you went to the ER and got a good Dr. who treated you. That is a very scary diagnosis but it sounds like you’re on the road to recovery. Continued prayers sent your way. Lay low, take it easy and have a healing weekend.
Loved seeing the designer house pics but they paled in comparison to knowing you’re going to be OK!

Great news that they are closer to narrowing it down. Even better that you are able to function and walk your sweet Cami! Continued healing hugs are coming to you! 🌻

Happy to hear that you are on the mend. Still praying for you. Question about the keeping room sofa. I can't figure out how that sectional would fit together. On the sofa part it has the left end open and three attached flat cushions on the back and right side. On the other section there appear to only be two attached back and side cushions and the open end is long and on the right. How would it be connected. Sorry I know that I am being picky but it is such a pretty space I was trying to see if J could find a way to replicate it in my daughter's family room.

Glad you are feeling better! I live in north central MN with a high concentration of dog & deer ticks. I work as a landscape designer & also do the install as well as maintenance, so I am out in the "elements of the tick world" everyday. I put 2 drops of rose geranium essential oil - full strength - on each shin or ankle & 2 drops on my wrists in the morning. Have had one tick bite since started using it 3 years ago. Works on pets too! Thanks for your humor and design inspiration.

Best thing I've heard all day! Thank you, thank you for letting us know. Was so worried for you. Please be sure to take it slow for awhile so you don't end up back in the ER.
A big hug to you.

Wow, although Rocky Mountain Fever is pretty serious stuff, I'm glad you don't have Lyme disease! Take good care of yourself!

So happy to hear you have a diagnosis! It's hard enough to recover and heal but to not know is awful. You sound like your energy is coming back too...woo hoo! This showhouse is something EXTRA! Wow. Love PH's understated bedroom. You can always email me about blogger - I still maintain a blog there and am always happy to help. So even though blogging is a lonely venture in 2020, you are not alone as long as I'm around. xox
