BOULDER PROJECT

Can you believe it's Friday already....and June? Crikey it was just Christmas.

I swear in the last few days I have picked out tile for a 100 bathrooms.  I'm tired and bored with what's out there right now. Pouring over pinterest for a glimmer of inspiration.

With so much construction going on it's hard to stay fresh.  A few weeks ago I flew out to Boulder again to work on another project.  They have some strange style out there....I don't mean that in a bad way but it's not a design hub if you know what I mean:)  I forget that not everyone is obsessed with keeping up on design trends like I am!

This house is a fairly traditional 2 story brick.

At first they were thinking keep the brick and I was like...."are you kidding me....if you don't paint that sucker I quit"!!!

I can be pretty dramatic when I don't get my way.

And here she be.....looking so much better right?
Are you shocked I picked white?
And....2016=white houses.

This is what you see when you walk through the front door....

And now....
Pretty stoked about this!  Taking traditional to a whole new level.  Good call Greg.

The laundry room....I mentioned how cool concrete patterned tiles would be but after Greg heard the price I had to move quick cause he almost slapped me.  He's pretty big with the "B" word [budget].  Whatev......

But.....lookey here what we found online from Home Depot!

Kapow huh!

The dining room had beadboard so it got freshened up with planking.

Cause nothing says 2016 like shiplap right.

The main level powder room....
And my inspiration....

With some Schumacher wallpaper...

Which brings me to ask if anyone out there knows of a good wallpaper person in the Boulder area please message me!

Can't wait to go back out for the staging....I've got a crap load of ideas running through my head which I will share.

Right now I have to go get my hair colored.....critical.

Can you share where you sourced the stair rail from or if it is custom? I can never seem to find more clean, more contemporary options like this when I look. Thanks, and as always you do such great work!

We have beadboard half way up the wall in our guest bath. I want to replace it with shiplap but the hubs is saying "Absolutely not!"
He's such a buzz kill. Remind me why I got married, please!

Moving from Atlanta to the Boulder area five years ago was a huge design adjustment for me!! Good news is no one cares a lick about good design so lots of good furniture finds for nothin'. Just sign me South by Southwest. Meg A

I adore your work. In truth it makes me feel better about myself given that grey is actually my favorite color. But despite how I can spend an exceptional amount of time drooling over your design work, I equally love *actually reading* your blog. You're sense of humor is fantastic!

Thanks for delivering beautiful eye candy along will with a good chuckle to start my day every Saturday. Keep it up.

Looking great! We are currently painting our house and I would love to paint our brick but getting so much push back from husband, painter, contractor, unsolicited onlookers.. Ugh.
I can't wait to see more of this project.

YAY on the painted brick. Love it. I put my foot down about a dusty fake ficus calling it a "deal breaker" but you are really tough...and that is a good thing.

Can you please give us the name of the tile from Home Depot. I can't seem to find it.

Hey Sherry,

I am an interior designer in Denver and best friend of Pam from Simple Details. I love your blog and have been reading it for several years! You crack me up and I think you are a wonderful designer too!
I have used Gary in the past (it's been a few years) and he is fantastic. He is a little expensive but he holds true with the saying that you get what you pay for. His # is 303-467-2851.

Would you be willing to share the exterior white paint color? Just getting ready to paint my exterior and yours looks like a warm white. Beautiful.

Did you paint the windows black, out were they already that color? We have white vinyl windows and I'm tempted to paint them.

I'd love to hear more about the painted windows!
