THIS AND THAT

Day one of 2013......

Location:  The Beach
Weather:  69 degrees [pretty nice]
Activity Level:  Pretty low :)

All in all.....things were good.

One more day of doing nothing.....and then it's back to Atlanta.  Oh yeah......and back to that dang Show House.

Every time somebody mentions it I want to stick my fingers in my ear and shout "la la la la la la".....not yet.....I don't want to think about it.

In fact at Brunch today, with some of our friends who were helping to ring in the new year with us,  I said......."I have to leave.....  I have GOT to blog today."  "No I can't have a mimosa cause drunk blogging is not really what my readers want."

The time is 5:30 pm and the job of motivating myself has felt like Noah when he was building the Arc.  Add a completely ADD brain to that equation and "Houston....we got problems!"

Before I left.... I was playing around with this.

I was putting together a plan with this Thibaut wallpaper.

Here is what I would do.  Put wainscoting [painted white] on the bottom and the wallpaper above.  The black and white on the  side chair seats.  Use the blue for upholstered end chairs, with the yellow fabric as pillows.  Then make window treatments from the scrim with the yellow tape down the leading edge.

I also started moving some furniture around .....just for grins.

Has anyone picked up the Country Living White issue [february]?  Oh Lord....it is packed with a whole bunch of goodness.  I read an article about a former Pottery Barn exec who started an Eco-Friendly Boutique called Greenhouse Design Studio.  I am sure that you guys are scratching your head thinking "Sherry we already know that....where you been girl."

News to me and there is some really cute stuff for sale.

Like these vintage pillow covers.

Vintage stools....

 These linens.

You might want to check it out if you didn't spend every last red penny on Christmas.....

With small interruptions I managed to finished this in a record 2 hours.

I am not looking forward to all of the organization post that will be coming my way.  I remember last year it made me feel so anxious.... that I was such a loser.

Guilt....it is a powerful thing.

Can you believe the Holidays are over?

Sherika

Love the floral fabric! Would you mind sharing a source? Please & Thank You! Sometimes we make things harder by avoiding them, but once we start we realize it really wasn't gonna be that bad. Happy New Year!!

Loving what you are putting together! Christmas decor is down, except our family room tree (our college freshie who is attending the Passion conference as I type, was begging me not to take it down before she leaves! UGH...I am ready for a clean slate, or at least a less clutter, pine free family room). And, I apparently have been hanging out with you under the same rock. Thanks for introducing me. However, I am sure hubby's wallet is cringing!! LOL
Happy New Year Girlfriend!!

I didn't know about the Greenhouse Design Studio so you're not the only one. You also just reminded me that I haven't paid my CL subscription so I got cut off. So I'm totally out of the look.

Just like A Perfect Gray, I'm slayed by that black and white fabric.

Happy New Year, Mrs.

Yes, I did get my copy and checked out that site. I may get a breadboard since the price is pretty good.

I think it's adorable that you think we are too good for drunk blogging. Please don't turn down mimosas at the beach, pretty lady.

Happy New Year, Sherry. Seriously, no mimosas? Impressive blogging. Why don't I know that Thibault paper? I MUST see it in person. Is it new? Every one of those fabrics with it is killer. Gorgeous look. You are off to a great 2013, that's obvious :)

I stumbled upon your blog two nights ago and I spent FOUR hours reading your blog posts! It is rare that I find a blogger who has my exact taste. You are the closest I have ever found! I sure do wish you lived in Charleston! I am struggling with what to put above my twins' beds! Toddler beds. We plan on selling the house in June, so my "normal" large Ikea pic's will not happen. You have great style, taste, and personality!

Happy New Year!

Your showhouse is going to be stunning, with you and Lori working your magic. Hope to see you soon!!

Thank goodness there is someone else who feels the same way about all those organizing stories. I have the best of intentions but never seem to cross the finish line when it comes to starting off the new year.

We still have holiday guests (step sons and girlfriends) and 7 of 8 of us have confirmed cases of the flu. Stop by my blog next week....can assure you there won't be organization going on! In fact, that Happy New Year post could be up for months! Seriously though, I love the wallpaper and your plan. I am a big fan of wainscoting and cannot wait to see your plan come to life. Enjoy the last days of rest!
