Spring forward.....

I  hate when we lose that hour in the spring...it really throws me off because I keep saying when I get up...."it's really 5 AM"....and then I psych myself into thinking I am tired all day.

The brain.....it likes to mess with you huh????

Don't get me wrong...love the extra daylight in the evenings.....

Everything is blooming around here....
These were in my neighbors yard.

No one lives there so I think it was OK....right?

Snip...Snip
I mean someone needs to enjoy.

I think I am going to paint the console under this table skirt.  It has a black marble top.  Yup.....just now deciding this as I write.

More on that later.

Remember the room with the reclaimed fireplace???
Well....here is the plan for the Mitchell Gold sofa and chairs....

Uh Oh...there I go with blue again.....I need to get out of the loop.....there are a gazillion other colors...WHY?????

Do I need an intervention?  I have tried to show other colors....even emerald green and no one bites.

I am doomed to be a "one color" designer.

To answer a few questions from the last post.  How did the chalk paint workout with those furniture pieces?  Well lets put it this way.....I did not sand or do any prep...just started painting.  It did take very bit of 2 coats...3 in some places.  I did put the clear wax on it.

I will let you know when we go back in May as to how it holds up.

The round navy lamp came from Marshall's.  It was a Ralph Lauren.

Think that was it.

One more thing.....Friday a week ago my sister went in for a check up.  She had been having some shortness of breath.  They admitted her that day and she had to have OPEN HEART surgery last Monday!  Yes...tripple bypass.  She is 58.

AYFKM?????  He said that she had a 30% chance of having a heart attack within a month.

All is well...she is home sporting a 5 inch scar.  Back to her feisty self....

I am just saying that one day you can be doing something as mundane as picking lint out of your belly button and the next day having open heart surgery.

My Dad died of a heart attack.....and numerous other relatives.  Now we all have to go get tested.

Great....me with my fear of all things associated with doctors, needles, blood.....hospitals.

Just what I needed.

Sha scared.....

So sorry about your sis - but at least she is doing well and you all know to get tested. We lost my sweet brother to a heart attack this past year 50yrs old!!! Go get tested - I did the works and it was all good.

Lots to say. . . love the free spring blooms. Love the fabrics for your clients room (blue or not). So glad your sister is feeling better. Scary! And, finally, go get your little self checked. We need Sherry around for a long time!

Wow, that is scary. Glad she caught it in time. Heart problems run in my family, too and I need to get a check up. Ugh! BTW, someone may call the flower police.

Sherry, Glad your sis made it thru! She's getting a second chance at a full life. And now you've been warned so please get checked and take care of yourself. As for being stuck on your color choice - it's always beautiful and works perfectly with the wood on the wonderful fireplace.

I am sorry about you sister. What a blessing that they found it and were able to correct it. Heart attacks do run in families so I am happy that she caught it early on.

Love your fresh Spring look. Nothing blooming here yet- Hope you have a wonderful day-xo Diana

sorry about your sister, but SO glad she went in and got it checked and did not have a heart attack. that is a silver lining!

OMG! I'm so sorry to hear about your sister having such a serious thing happen to her! Glad that it was caught early and fixed. That is so scary. I'm not going to tell my husband about this because every time he thinks something is wrong with his heart, he runs to the dr and they can't find anything wrong. He has the opposite situation (like he's looking for something to be wrong instead of not expecting it). Love those fresh flower clippings in your foyer. I think it was safe to borrow them. Ha!

So good to hear your sister is on the road to recovery, Sherry! We are well acquainted with heart disease in our family, but it can still grab you when you least expect it! As in just stopping for lunch on the way home from the lake!!

I love the buds and blooms. I need to look around, see if I can find something blooming in our yard...or the neighbor's.:-)

The blooms are perfect for your entrance. And yes, someone has to enjoy them! I snipped some of the branches off of the evergreens during Christmas:)

Next, your use of blues and creams is what I LOVE about your designs! I wish I could master using light/neutral colors. And I've seen you use other colors in design (like the Nicholas House project) and you pulled those yellos and greens together beautifully.

And lastly, I'm so glad that your sister is doing better. Definitely get yourself tested, because we need Sherry around for a long LONG time!

Enjoy your day girl:)

God would want you to steal those flowers. I know he would....

Very glad to hear your sister is on the mend and that she went to the doctor when she did. I know how you feel, I'm scared to death of doctors too but getting checked out is so important. Just do it Sherry :)

P.S. I spent last evening in the ER with kidney stones...talk about pain and scared...thought I was dying. So I really get what you're saying...don't want to go back there ever! Getting old is not for sissies :)

Sherry, that is scary about your sister! (hey that rhymes) I have never been fond of goign to the doctor or dentist either, but I'm crazy not to go. My father died of a heart attack too when I was young as well but my brother and I have both been tested and are okay. And onto the fun stuff...that fireplace!! And those fabrics! And daylight savings has wreaked havoc with my little one - does NOT want to go to sleep at night. Nope, SCREAMS her little head off. Poor little thing - she never did this before :( Darn daylight. Glad to see you back in the saddle this week - have a great day!

Very scary - all the best to your sister. I hate the time change as well... I just can't seem to drag my butt out of bed in the mornings these past couple of days... but it is a sign that Spring is on its way! Thanks for the great inspiration. Have a great evening - Jalon

So sorry to hear about your sister Sherry! I'm glad they were able to take care of her so quickly. The glory of modern medicine! And good idea on the fresh blooms. I was thinking of doing the same thing on a bush in our local park. That's 'free' space, right? :)

Don't be frightened, Sherry. Inaction is the thing to fear. Just do it, girl. I am sure you will be fine, but not knowing will weigh on you. I am happy your sister is feeling better.

So sorry about your sister! That's awful. You are very brave to be going to get blood work done - good for you! Heart disease runs in my and my husband's family, and it used to freak us out so much. After watching "Forks Over Knives" and other documentaries, we feel more in control over things we thought we were "predisposed" to. In addition to décor, I've been blogging about adopting a plant-based diet.
Much Love!

Goodness gracious, I am so glad that your sister is OK and that now you'll be tested. So scary! I would totally snip the blooms ... and I am just as obsessed with blue. So you go, girl. ;-)

Yikes about your sister! I sincerely hope all goes well for her, that's all so scary. Seems silly to comment on design after that, but I love those fabrics with the sofa. Stay well!

I don't hold surgeons in the highest esteem. I think they live for surgery...cutting people open. Hey, I guess that's why they call them surgeons! Yuck. Talked my 89 year old dad into heart surgery. 89? Ayfkm? No more dad. I know we can't live forever. Just hope that surgeon doesn't run into me in a dark alley!

Sorry to hear about your sister, but glad she is okay! And I think the time change thing is ridiculous. We can enjoy the sunshine in the early morning just as much as we do later in the day. Glad someone else steals flowers from vacant homes. :-)
