INSPIRATION SHOWHOUSE

This time last year I had just finished participating in the St Phillips Cathedral Showhouse with Lori May.

It was my first time executing something like this and we sure found out how much work it takes.

This year they did not do a show house but had designers decorate small spaces in the church [about 12 x 12 ].

I think they lost my number......:)

No worries.

Back to the reason for all of this....

Just recently Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles did their spread on last years rooms.

Here are a few of the images from the article.

This is from my friend Ally [From The Right Bank].  Bless her heart....she had to spend most of her time outside but she was a trooper!  Looks like the middle of spring not January right?

This is from Lance and David [Parker Kennedy]  They rocked this "palm beach" style and I fell hard for this space.

This kick ass room is from Jennifer and Richard [Reiner White Studio].  So much inspiration.

Upstairs Bryan Kirkland [BAK Designs] blasted us with some great modern color!  It was stunning.

My girl Dayka [Dayka Robinson Designs] took us outside the box with this entry!

And then we come to Bill and William [Bill Ingram Architects] who put me in a trance with their space.  They were in the basement with us and we had so much fun that at times it was hard to pull it together when viewers were coming down the stairs.

And that's it.

WHAT you say...where are your pictures???

Now I don't want to sound like "bitter party for one"......but Lori and I did not make the cut.

Whaaaaaaaa.

Guess they didn't get my check.

So today I am posting the images that Christina Wedge took for us a year ago.

She did a great job cause this room had everything going against it like only one small window.

We added the wood on the low ceiling and stained it Classic Gray.

A good thing is the great texture with that stone wall...... it helped give our space some interest.

We tried to disguise that door by painting it the same color of the walls and even added a picture on it.  We are nothing if not clever.

As you have seen.... those pillows are now residing at my house and I have to say I am not tired of them.  Whoa...news flash.   Call CNN.

So there you have it.  I created my own 5 minutes of fame.  You can do that when you have a blog.

If you want to see an image of the room before go here.

As you know we had the big ice/snow storm on Wednesday and here we are on Friday with 90% of it gone.  That is the beauty of the south.

30 degrees one day and 60 the next.

Have a fabu weekend.

Shapouting.....just a little.

AROUND THE HOUSE

Good morning Monday....I have an Olympic hangover.......

Need to take a break today.....Sports are fun to watch and all that.....but well....gotta have some balance right?

It seems like you guys were all over that staging project.  I have more news to report...the professional pictures that the owner took and other details about the house.

Later on this week.

First up today I am going to share with you a picture of the slipcover  for my sofa that I did back in May...... and the dirt cheap lamps that I purchased at the Currey and Co warehouse lampapalooza.

This image was photographed by Christina Wedge.
She made it look pretty huh?

I took this one....
I have retired the pink chairs.

I know...... it was a phase.  There was no other pink in my house and I just felt like they were a little disconnected.  A pink book maybe....

I am either gonna sell or have them recovered in a cream.  I dunno.
Thoughts?  They are modern.  I like that part.

I have something else to show you....
Remember when I put these hydrangea in this white vase....it looked so pretty I wanted to put fake ones in.  But....you guys blasted me about that.

I really wasn't gonna do it.

I did find a solution though.

Tillandsia.

This little sucker needs no dirt.  Water like once a month.  Can I get a "hallelujah".

Just pick it up and spray the roots, or let it sit in a vase of water overnight.

Might be the best plant ever.

I love it so much I might make some earrings out of them.....

Christina took this also.  She made me look younger that I really do.  I hate having my picture taken.  So awkward.

I gotta run...Wednesday....part 6 of the ORC.  Hopefully I will have a few tricks up my skirt :)

Seekers Bazaar did a sweet little post on the ORC.....check it out.
She gave me a new name....

Sherrific!

BOOM.

Is this pretty or what?????

I had a whole other post but got so sidetracked with these photos from my favorite magazine Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles

Seriously, you are going to drool.....and maybe faint.

Beth Ervin is her name and serious design is her game!  I know...corny.  Whatever.

Photography by Erica George Dines

Check these out.  But first....remember to be happy with what you have.  I know I had to pinch myself out of the trance a few times.

Let's just start with the dining room.  Could you die?  So soft, the rug, the blue doors.  It is me!  I love everything about it.  It is traditional, but not in a stuffy way.....

If you weren't convinced...then feast your eyes on this sunroom.  What is NOT to like here.  That bench...those pillows.  The ottoman.  I. Feel. Dizzy.

Call me crazy, but I love that apron over the sink.  And this door.  oh ma ga.....

Wait...there is more!
Dining area...help I need a crash cart....having a heart attack here.

I feel my blood pressure going down in this room.  Just a touch of blue........the perfect place to have a glass of wine and look at beautiful pictures in a magazine.  Just sayin.....

Uh Huh...now I have your attention.  Yes siree.......The walls, the doors, that coffee table.

Perfect

And now for the powder room.....

Love the vanity, the only thing I would have done is put a basket under to hide the plumbing....
How cool is that paper???

Beth.....you busted it out on this one.....Who are you?  I googled and found nothing.....

On the other hand....this months issue is all about color!

And it features work done by Brian Patrick Flynn....

Check it out.  Photography by the talented Christina Wedge
Framed wallpaper samples.....against that gorgeous blue wall......

So fun and out of the box.....love the painted table!!!

Brian....you rock!

I have said this before...AH&L is one awesome magazine.

I am so happy to know that I am not alone with wearing my pants backwards.....so many of you shared your little secrets with me and I appreciate it.

I am going to the beach on Sat to celebrate my birthday

 It's a big one......somewhere in between 59-61.

Yeah...that one.  Honestly I am in shock.  Remember me telling you this......as Cher once said.....

"Getting old sucks."

Old Sha Ray.
