SHOPPING AT POTTERY BARN

Lord y'all....I am in the weeds and trying to dig out but I feel like I am using a spoon instead of a shovel....haha.

I am putting together a whole house and trying to find something IN STOCK is impossible.  Seriously the "supply chain" is gone and  NO ONE HAS INVENTORY!

I am getting lead times like 16-18 weeks!

What the actual heck?  Helppppppppp!

I mean I have looked at all the usual vendors that I use and even moved on to "big box" vendors that I usually only use for accessories!

Excuse me while I have a "hissy fit"......

Anyway......I was desperate and jumped on to Pottery Barn.  Hmmmmm.....I did find a few things I liked as far as furniture goes so I thought I would share!

Let's start with coffee tables....I love every one of these and could get to styling them up!

Here are 2 more that struck my fancy!
Y'all know I love some texture and of course this white one has my name on it....

Next up are table lamps....thoughts?  Those iron ones are pretty amazing.....and of course I have used the glass ones.

I love these black jar lamps also.

Next up are pillows.....The thing is.... I like to use the solid ones and then add some "pow" fabric mixed in!

#designertip

The first ones are wonderful linen and I use them all the time!

What actually started the search was a quest for a black bed which I found but it is just a little to "farmhousy" for this project.

But.....check out some of these other great beds!

Loving this black nightstand but it is just a little too distressed for this project.  Damn.

Whats a girl to do?  Who wants to wait 5 months for a sofa....I am not kidding!  And stores that sell off the floor are suddenly NOT......because they can't get more merchandise.  Uh Huh....truth.

On the one hand I have plenty of design business but on the other had I am looking at them.....scared to say uh......I can get this for you in 2022.

And then duck as they throw something at me or punch me in the face.

I did order this cute bed from CB2 which they say will be here in late May.....we shall see!

And this great mirror [CB2] for  over a foyer chest which WAS IN STOCK!  Whoa....give me a bullhorn so I can shout it to the world!

Haha....the person before me probably bought the last one.

Anyway the struggle is real people.....designers everywhere are going crazy.  Include me on that statement.

Shacrazy [but that is not news]

We ordered our new living room furniture on November 10, 2020 and it was delivered last week! That was a 4 1/2 month wait. Now they are quoting 8-10 months out.

I am leveraging HomeGoods for accessories.

Same with building materials. What use to be $8 sheets of plywood were $32 two weeks ago. The windows I want for a sunroom project that were normally on a two week ship time are now on 10-11 week ship time. The recent storms are surely going to drive the prices higher. I'll put my project on hold to let others rebuild their damaged/destroyed homes.

I ordered sofas and chairs on January 2 and it looks like I won't get them until sometime in May! Glad I got them ordered when I did because it is just getting worse by the minute. I heard that the big freeze in Texas has put a major strain on the foam industry.

Wow, had no idea this was happening.

Maybe it is time to start thinking about reupholstering versus buying new if the style and measurements still work.

Yup Sherry. I can understand. I work for a furniture sales company and there is a foam shortage, truck driver shortage, covid, and everyone ordered furniture. There are afew lines that we won't even sell and one that has a 9 month wait. Yikes!

I like many of the pieces you picked especially that round mirror...unique. Homes to buy are also not available. Glad I built in 2019! Good luck, your ingenuity will prevail!!

Ordered our living room furniture back in early October, 2020. Sofa and two power recliners. Was supposed to ship mid Feb. Received an email stating they’re waiting for a mechanisms to arrive and hoping to get it by May. My friend whom lives in Newport Beach, CA said there’s a parking lot full of ships, loaded with cargo, anchored out at sea waiting for space at the dock to unload. Been like this for months. When the ships do get dock space, there’s no space in the wear house for their containers because there’s a shortage of truck drivers to haul the stuff away. Factories in NC have been effected with COVID. If one person becomes infected they shut the whole place down and then allow a slow re-opening. Once it’s shut down it takes weeks to open back up full capacity. The whole world has been turned up side down and there’s no end in sight! God have Mercy on us because our politicians are clueless!

IT'S CRAZY ISN'T IT? WHEN YOU TELL SOMEONE THEY CAN'T HAVE THEIR FURNITURE FOR 5-6 MONTHS? THAT'S WHY I RETIRED! I LOVE THAT BLACK LAMP FROM POTTERY BARN. I HAVE USED IT IN EVERY COLOR AND SIZE, AND TRUST ME I DON'T NORMALLY USE POTTERY BARN EITHER. I EVEN HAVE IT IN MY OWN HOUSE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS WORTH A LOT MORE $$ THAN IT IS. THOSE BLACK NIGHTSTANDS ARE CUTE. I NEED TO POP IN TO POTTERY BARN I CAN SEE!!

Check out France and Son and Article. They have quick ship options on both online stores and if you call France and Sons they will likely give you a good idea of delivery times.

Some of the furniture I've ordered lately has surprised me by coming earlier than expected. I feel your pain and the pain of your clients. Still, if they really love something I say it might be worth the wait.
