BEFORE AND AFTER

I want to say I am truly humbled by the response to my makeover of the "bunny hutch".....my sister is of course thrilled.  While we were in the styling phase [after I would go home] she would say it's perfect....done.....I don't want to change a thing.

And you know those words fell on deaf ears as I would look at the pictures and figure out what needed tweaking..... then on the next visit I would start changing things around and editing.  That is the process.  I don't want anyone to think it's so easy:)

The best part of designing for someone who is open to anything is there are no restrictions to your creativity.  You are not worried if they will like it or not and can purchase without fear.

Speaking of perfect clients.....

I have a few updates for you.

The art I commissioned from Linda Donahue arrived.

It is so perfect for the space and I have to say I am extremely envious it isn't hanging in my room.

Found an old painted bucket to accessorize with.

Since it was a good size we decided to recycle the coffee table.

Before.

After.

Instead of just painting it white I decided on a slightly darker color and some pattern.

So pleased with the results!

This room is almost finished....will have a few more updates later on.

Yesterday I went shopping with my sister.  We were in a dressing room [she was trying on dresses] and I hung my purse on one of the hooks.

You might know where this is going already.

After we left [deciding that every choice looked like something our Mom might have worn] we wandered ALL the way down to the other end of the mall into another store to continue the search.

Since I was not looking for a dress which by the way I HATE wearing....[I would rather wear some slim black pants, heels and a pretty jacket]....I went to check my phone.

Panic.

In the biggest way ever.

I screamed to my sister in the dressing room something inaudible and went running through the mall like my hair was on fire.  I wanted to scream but of course I did not want to get arrested, along with a possible You Tube on the 11 o'clock news.

Breathlessly I reached the dressing room and knocked on the closed door.  "Um hello....please....I left my purse in there."

In my mind I was certain somebody had already called their friends and said "put on your party clothes cause we are going out tonight courtesy of some stupid old lady who left their purse in a dressing room."

Whoop.

As the door opened this cute young blonde [who by the way looked adorable in the dress she had on] appeared scared when she saw the burning haired woman.

But she managed to get out of my way as I barged in, threw dresses off hooks to see my purse.

Holy heaven.

The angels started singing along with me.... as I hugged her.

Like she really had anything to do with it.

OMG.....I am now THAT old woman who can't keep up with her personal belongings.  What next getting lost in my neighborhood wandering around in my pajamas with my mascara all over my face?

Oh Lord.... the future is scary.

Oh my gosh...great story. So glad you found your bag. And yeah, I would have crapped my pants the second I realized my bag was missing. So cheers for not doing that.

Thanks for the great laugh at your expense. :) I haven't left my purse but at this moment I'm wearing sunglasses on my head, broken reading glasses on my eyes, and yes there's mascara.

I love the new room and painting but I also thoroughly enjoy your humorous stories. Glad I'm not the only one getting old. As on of my favorite birthday cards from one of my kids put it, "getting old ain't for sissies!"

Would it give you comfort to know I was at Home Depot today and the nice man there offered up his computer so I could look online for size options and I left my phone on the desk right beside the computer. Thank goodness I wanted to make a call before I left the store or I would not have realized what I had done until I got home and then total panic would have set in. Feel better?

Sherry, great painting! I am so curious about the design on the coffee table. Do you know how it is achieved.

I would never guess that you were passed 30. Everything about your blog has wonderful, youthful energy. Humor does keep a person youthful and you have a gift for it.

I just want to echo what Tina said, keep the beauty coming.

Sherry, I have a story for you. Was heading out to go shopping the other day, and grabbed my "gift card envelope" which had about $500 in Visa and other Gift cards, as well as $150 in cash. Put the baby in the car and set off to Ballards. I heard a rustle on the top of my car, looked around and saw my purse and cell phone so figured "it must have been a branch". (You know where this is going). Yep, my envelope had fallen OFF the top of the car and spilled its contents all over the street. Amazingly, a benevolent neighbor found everything, looked up my name (in the envelope) on the internet and found my address and returned EVERYTHING. Stupid moment for me.....great moment to restore my faith in my fellow man!

Can I ever identify with the purse story. I now wear pants with deep pockets and if I can't put something in my pocket it stays home.
