Week 2 baby!
Last week I showed you the before images of the "bunny hutch" and we talked about the plan....well I talked about it.... you just listened and thought humph....can she pull this off. There is some uglyness there. Sorry sister:)
Recovering the furniture was a game changer.
Let's take a look.
Sofa
Now before you get you panties in a wad....this picture shows nothing more than the recovered sofa....not it's final destination.
Notice there is no cording on the cushions...
The chair. For those of you who live here in Atlanta we got the fabric at Marietta Fabric and Fringe. Great prices.
Design tip: Neutralizing all the furniture will allow us to add more pattern in the pillows and accessories. By using a cream color [safe in a room that is not used very much] if she moves to a smaller home these pieces can be separated for use in another space.
Here is the wing chair before
Are you confused? Why is that orange fabric running down the middle?
Answer.
That was us trying to figure out the width of the stripe. Very technical.
Here is the ottoman
We took everything out of the room and played with the arrangement....I am not going to sugar coat it....very awkward. In the end we kept it almost the same. I will try to have a floor plan for you next week.
Last week there was a comment about the image I used..... to show the style of the sofa.... and where it came from.
I actually just googled English arm sofa and found that one but yesterday I was in Bassett and saw this one.
It is pretty much an exact replica, and very comfy! They are having a 25% off sale right now if you are inclined to get one.
I have to tell you Maggie is pretty excited. After putting 2 kids through college she will be the first to say that her home has been neglected. That is what started all the yard sale talk...so she would have more money to spend!
I will post the yard sale info on Design Indulgence FB page if you are local.
Save some time today to check out everyone else's progress!
I know you won't be disappointed.
Have a fabu day.

Love the stripe on the wing chair and your very calculated way of determining the width, you are genius!!! I am a big fan of the flexibility of neutral fabrics so I love where you 2 are going on this!
ahhh! I'm loving this so much. Makes me really wish I were recovering some of my too-colorful upholstered furniture!
Who do you use for upholstery?
Maureen
The upholstery looks great. And, yes I am in the market for a new sofa--so will check out Bassett. Thanks for the info!
My favorite, neutrals that you can change up on a whim! Love that wide stripe for a little oomph!

I adore the wing chair with the running stripe. I have been wanting to try that (but can't seem to convince a client). So smart to keep the investment pieces neutral!

Where have you been all of my life?
Cracking up.
Love that stripe on the chair, and think the neutrals will be lovely.
What a brilliant way to visualize a stripe before committing to it. Your sister totally deserves this. I wish I lived in the area, that would be one garage sale that would make my husband nervous.
