COLOR PREDICTIONS

This might be like the pu pu platter from last week.....but a few things popped onto my radar the last few days.

First things first.  Boy did I feel some blog love after Kim and Emily's post.  I was giddy....I was high....I was invincible.  Then I walked outside in the 100% humidity...my hair blew up into a frizz ball the size of Texas and I realized nothing had really changed.  I'm still me.

Sigh.

OK...down to "bidness" as they say.

Sherwin Williams has put out their new color predictions for 2014.

First up is Reasoned.  Gray is the new black.   Whoa there's a news flash....call the station.

Flesh tones called Diaphanous.....definitely have to be careful with those.  I am digging Fleur De Sel though.

These selections are called Curiosity.  Sealskin seems interesting.

Last is Intrinsic.   Ramie was an old favorite of mine...about 7 years ago.

Next is this kitchen I ran across...

Holy mother of gray and white.  Designed by Sarah Jernigan Designs and photographed by Jean Allsopp.

Straight out pretty right?

Last I have a few photographs that did not make the cut for the Favorite Home tour.

Can you see I am still trying to ride this wave?

Last was my purchase from Scott's on Friday.

2 geodes
Like jewelry....

This month I went with a friend of mine....and I had to set her straight.  She was high maintenance.  First of all she had no cash or checks.  What?  WHAT?  So we had to make a trip to the ATM....time wasted.  Then she wanted to sit down and eat lunch.  WHAT?  Your hungry?

Crikey.  My shopping time was dwindling fast.  We had to have a talk.  I think I scared her.
She saw my bad side.

Alrighty....don't forget about the giveaway....

Frizzy haired girls, unite. You need to have printed instructions to give to your friends when you shop with them. Bring a snack and a bottle of water.

I'm with Linda, you need to write a 'welcome to scott's' instruction sheet. That's why I don't take friends to my favorite antique mall. Too much time wasted with rookies!

Hasn't gray been the new black for a while? I love gray and I am painting the large common areas gray as soon as I convince my husband that he does not have time to do it himself. Its been almost 3 years and he keeps saying I'll do it.
I need those geodes!

It WAS hot Saturday, and I went to the Braves game. 6 months pregnant and all. CRAZY.

The humidity was crazy this weekend! I sweated buckets doing the yard and then washing my car, which I will not do again. Geesh, maybe I don't want to do Scott's with you. Just kidding.

LOVE the new colors... I'm very into watery blues right now! No wonder you got so much blog love... It's a treasure!

SW seems to be the go-to paint south of the Mason-Dixon line. I don't disriminate when it comes to color; I'm ordering a fan deck today. It looks like there are some nice grays in there. I avoid any color that could be confused with makeup. They just never seem to work.

I usually like to go on treasure hunting excursions alone. I don't like the lunch and coffee and bathroom breaks that people need. A lobster roll to go is the most I can do. Just put in a catheter a go.

pu pu platters are for me for sure!

We need to shop together. Be prepared and eat before you leave home. When I'm out for shopping, I'm out for shopping, not lunch and running errands.

Fun post! love your geodes. I painted my Noah's room Peppercorn. It is the BEST! He loves it! When my oldest saw it he asked why I didn't show him that color. It's a favorite. His bed is creamy white, and then we have some metal pieces, and a black dresser. Also a world market desk in that Restoration Hardware color wood. It all works. I have to photograph it someday. Still have to hang guitars and find or make some drapes. All the little details.

Love those geodes!
While I am on my mission to paint all my walls white, I have definitely been eyeing that dark charcoal color lately. Just trying to figure out where.

This makes me feel so much better, one of my clients packs us snacks because I don't do food stops, if you can't survive on a Starbucks for 6 hrs. you're shopping with the wrong girl! :)

The Sealskin looks close to the SW Sticks and Stones in our kitchen area. J will be happy to know, we won't need to paint the kitchen this year, since we are in the ball park of the new colors.:-) Yes...we are in the SW computer.

I love that kitchen.

Take me shopping with you!! I promise to have pockets bulging with cash and saltines to tide me over.

Humidity and my hair don't get along too well either. Can't believe the audacity of your friend, being hungry and all. I'm glad you set her straight. If she can't hang with you, call me, me and my frizzy hair will come down and shop with you.
