OK....last week was a busy one. The Mart, shopping for a bedroom installation, and an event at Serenbe for Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams.
Let's start at the beginning.....first up is that I got a letter from my hair salon stating that my stylist had moved to Miami.
WHAT????? NOOOOOOOOO.
I looked at the name like a thousand times...thinking that they got it wrong and it was someone else. Major depression set in.
People...I have problem hair and if you have been reading this blog for any length of time you are well aware of this fact.
She was the "hair whisperer" if there ever was one. Girl could cut some hair.....
but the best part is that she could blow out and style like nobodies business.
Serious.
When you left the salon after she did her thing....you could go straight on a date with George Clooney.
That's a fact.
Now if I was nice [but my hairdresser leaving took care of that....grrrrr] I would include the install I did on Thursday. Instead all you are going to get is a few images from instagram.
Scored these cute books from Anthro.
These are the pillows and art.
It's mighty cute...so as soon as I edit the pictures I will post.
Next up was a trip to Serenbe to see the Smart and Small Cottage that Mitchell Gold decorated. If you've never been there you need to make it a day trip! A 1000 acre community located about 30 minutes south of Atlanta's airport. There are 3 fabulous restaurants, The Farmhouse, The Hil and Blue Eyed Daisy Bakery which are all worth the drive.
You might have seen a closeup of the doors I posted....
Crikey they are gorgeous.
Shiny painted cabinets with gold hardware. What's not to like right?
2 of Serenbe's founders are Steve and Marie Nygren. Remember when Cottage Living featured the area in their magazine?
And their kitchen....
I think that was one of the first times I saw the "wine barrel" chandelier!
You can go to Lauren's blog to see more wonderful pictures about their home and the community.
Last was someone I met at the Mart. Victoria emailed me a few questions about Scott's since she was coming to Atlanta [from Virginia] for a few days to shop for her new home store [Victoria Sanchez Home]. We made plans to meet for lunch last Monday and she was so damn nice.
Look at some of her incredible work.
You can view her portfolio here
Then on Thursday a knock at the door delivered this....
and this...
Whoops....2 are already missing:)
From Victoria! So not only talented, nice but throw classy in the mix.
Alrighty then....I am sure you are bored with all this major activity in my life.
So get on with your Saturday. It is about to rain here. Yeah....for like the 58th day in a row. I'm getting moldy.
Shazam Baby!

Omgosh,
I would die if my hairdresser moved. I am such a pick-wick when it comes to a good cut and color that when I find a good hairdresser I practically marry them.
I feel your pain,truly!!
Love a little cottage and would love to live in one with an ocean view, of course!!
Happy Weekend,
Kathysue
Changing hairdressers keeps life adventurous. Those chocolate things look so yummy!
It's easier to find a brain surgeon that a good hairdresser! So sorry!
MC and I enjoyed our adventure to Serenbe over a year ago....Went through a "To Die for Victorian" along with an adventure at the Inn. Apparently it was reserved for the day and we were told to leave immediately and we were told and forbidden to talk to anyone! I'm dead serious! Really creepy! Did a Post ....felt like we were in the middle of an episode of "24".
Your gifts are amazing....
Gurl, the hair thang..... dang.... & while I would be doing the old Valley of the Dolls trick there is this to ponder “And if things always stayed the same, Scarlett, what would be the reason for bothering to draw breath?”
Fun door!
Moldy with problem hair sounds charming.
A really tragic event Sherry. Have you tried to talk her out of moving?
I need a cottage by the sea!
Love the pillows and art!

2013 Designer Series & Giveaway!
Hi Sherry. Thanks for the link to my Serenbe post. Now hearing how great the restaurants are I really want to go there! Next time I'm in Atlanta, hopefully in January, I'll put that place at the top of my list :) Althoguh, seeing all of your Scott's pictures has me dying to get back there! I mean, those garden stools?!?!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Bored at Design Indulgence?? Never! Love this post!
Changing hairdressers is very traumatic. My sympathies, Sherry!
Challenging hair and no stylist will leave any girl in a tizzy.
Sorry she left you high and dry.
Can't wait to see the real install pix, your little instagram photos were such a tease.

I have never been happy with my fine/flat hair! I wish I could find a hairdresser who could work miracles! Serenbe looks gorgeous! There always seems to be so much design going on in the south...I need to move!

That was pretty nervy of your hair dresser to move away without your consent. Fortunately you live in Atlanta. I'll bet you'll find someone even better.
Your hair whisperer up and left....so not fair!
I hate that and have been there myself!
What a great cottage and those interiors are gorgeous!
Such a bummer about your hairdresser! How selfish of her!! ;-)
More rain today, another day to put off paint projects. ugh. here's to blue skies one of these days!
xo Heidi
PS -- I have a great gal in Alpharetta if you want her name and salon. lmk.
i am so thrilled with your timing, sherry. been daydreaming bout cottages and yep, i do remember this issue of cottage living! my husband and i would love to build something small and smart on acreage if we can sell this place in the next few years.
the hair. omg. grieving with you. mine is thinning so much with the surgical menopause. humility is the new black.
have a great week.
michele
