Monday ramblings.....

Good morning...I am still in my jammies...yes I know it is 8:46.  I might even have a second cup of coffee. Maybe.  I usually only drink a half cup.  Cause I hate when it gets cold.

We'll see.

Anyway here is the scoop for today.

First thing is Becca from GARDNERS 2 BERGERS is featuring my foyer today and how I recovered my bench.   Becca is a queen of DIY.   I got so caught up in reading her blog and seeing all of the projects she has managed to tackle.  Seriously, that girl has some mad skills......please go check out her  project gallery!

Then I was reading a few blogs this morning....yeah there is a news flash, and came across something to share with you.  Lisa Mende is a blogger/designer in Charlotte North Carolina.  She was at market and saw this great idea called Tempaper.  I am going to let her give you the 411 so go here  and see what I am talking about!  It is certainly for bloggers who can not commit.....you know who you are :)

After much procrastinating I managed to fill a wooden bowl with some Christmas greenery.  Whoopie.  Look at me...a real Martha Stewart.  Let's face it though....she has people to execute her designs.

I got this bowl at Scott's.  It is HUGE.

I love the metal plates on it.  It was only $50.00  Pretty good for a dough bowl that big.

Then I worked my magic with greenery and some clementines in a bowl.
Kind of Christmasy right?????  Not really magic.

I'll probably finish up on the 23rd like I did last year and then leave town on the 27th.  What is the point. I don't know.

I have one last thing to share.
If you have been reading Design Indulgence for a while you know I am NOT a wiz bang in the kitchen. Today with one little picture I am going to prove this to you.

Here is a peeler.
I am sure you are thinking.....yeah so what.  Well I have had this thing for a while and always wondered why it did such a crappy job peeling.  In fact I think I bought a new one but this one managed to stay in the drawer also.

As I was taking it out of the DW the other day I noticed this.  What the hell......Oh.....hmmmmm.  I had never taken this little sticker off.

And we wonder why shampoo comes with directions.  For people like me.

I did finish my project this weekend!

Don't forget the giveaway......

Mondays are for getting things done and making a weekly list.

Here's hoping it is not too long :)

Great price on the dough bowl and love it filled. Did mine, too. You are so funny. Yep, gotta remove the sticker. Then hide that thing far away in the back of the drawer so hubby doesn't cut his finger on it while looking for something else in there.

Without a doubt you always give me a good chuckle and I think you have something there with that wooden bowl (which those metal plates are really cool) what you put together is really beautiful and takes some talent. I wonder if you gave that bowl to 10 other people what everyone would come up with....mmmm....

Its okay, we all have our strengths and our weaknesses. Clearly peeling veggies goes in the latter column. Thankfully, you have so many other endearing qualities. And quit advertising that dang giveaway - you're hurting my chances!!

Hahaha! I tried to use a peeler with the safety sticker still on a couple of weeks ago. I was all mad, wondering who ruined my peeler and then I realized it was new when the other one was in the sink.

Oh you crack me up! I didn't get out of my jammies until late today too.....been on a 4 day table decorating marathon for one event or another! I'm not putting a tree up this year, we are traveling and no point..doing a wee bit to make it look festive.

You and that peeler....for real? Crazy girl!

Loved the entry redo! AND I like that graphite chalk paint...where you git it? The mirror is perfect...did the MR help you hang that sucker? For the keys...I say find a small open wooden box/tray and put on the bench at an angle or one big enough to put the books you have there in it AND the KEYS! The man NEEDS a place for his keys or he will want YOU to remember where HE put them!

Great bowl. Jennings has a huge one on his island in the kitchen that he always has filled with cool seasonal stuff. You'll get lots of use for your 50 smackers.

Sherry, that bowl is amazing. I think you got a deal on it and I love how you arranged it. It looks great on your island.

I think you are on a roll!! Love love the dough bowl and the greens and clementines, all natural and pretty!! Love the black and white checked ribbon too!! I have come to a halt due to a doozy of a head cold/flu thingy. I have found I can not be creative when my head is fuzzy and hurts. So I am glad I got something done, because now I have huge doubts that the other planned stuff will get done!! Oh well, Tis the season!! Merry Christmas, Falala or should I say, flu-la-la!?
