Are you kidding me...I would slap the *****

OK...before we get to some pictures I just have to say a few things about the Bachelor!  I have not really been paying too much attention when it is on because the way Brad talks drives me insane.  He uses way too many adjectives in a sentence for me.   In fact I am usually scrolling the CL app on my phone to see if I can find cool stuff before Angie.

BUT...the last episode when they were in Costa Rica.  Holy Crap.  OK...that rappelling scene with the girls....even the ones who were scared out of their minds did it.  Just to impress Brad.  Let's face it...he is NOT Brad Pitt.  I would have "messed myself" if I had done that.  Then...the date with Jackie [I think] where they went into a cave with the bats, bugs and spiders.  No Freakin way would I have done that.  I don't care WHAT was at the end of that tunnel......when everything started scurrying around I would have flipped out in a way that would have made the fighting on the Jersey Shore look like Romper Room.  I think now [at my age] I would have turned to Brad and said...Hey you "jackwagon"I want a better date..this is not going to happen.  Brad is a ding dong.

I went to Scott's yesterday.  Duh.  Got some good pictures but I think these will be much more entertaining.  Yep...shots of my home decor from 15-18 years ago.  Can you say "edit"...Lord.

This the looking towards my foyer.  I have sense opened it up by removing the closet.  That wallpaper....I so loved it.  It is Boussac Panthere.

Here is a closeup

It looked so real you could pet it.  I had that paper for at least 10 years.

Here is the room in the other direction.  I have removed the columns.  I have that cast bronze $3000.00 chandelier up in my attic.  It is huge.  Same DR table except I sold the glass top and added a slab of Limestone. Same couch except it has been recovered.  Can you believe I had a zebra skin?  I remember when BH&G came to scout my house 16 years ago they said I would have to roll up that rug as it may be offensive to their readers.  My dog chewed up a huge corner so I used it to recover a chair.  Note the faux walls.....yep...and I even painted over them with high gloss poly so they would be shiny.  It looks so busy to me now :)

This is the guest bath that started it all.  I painted the diamonds and then glazed over it.  I was a glazing fool back then.....I  entered it to Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles for a contest.  I did not win but they ran it anyway in a "small bath makeover" section.  I was beside myself.
That shower curtain.  It is an Old World Weavers fabric and you are going to flip out when you read this next part.  A shower curtain takes 6 yards of fabric and it was $100.00@yd.  WHAT!!!  No you didn't....yes I did!  I loved it so and did not change this bath until about 5 years ago.  I still have the curtain and I will probably reuse it someday.

Oh I have more....but I am back off to Scott's today.  Have to get some good pictures for you guys!
Oh and...thanks for all the nice things you said about the guest room...I mean Angies house :)

oh man I love the bachelor. I don't know why, but I can't stop watching. But yea, Brad is a doozie and I wouldn't go into a bat cave for that guy! The rappelling could be cool, though.

PS- I'd want to pet that wallpaper too.

Oh Sherry, How your post titles always intrigue me :) Can you please come to my house so that we can watch the Bachelor season finale together? I think we're on the same page about Brad. "No doubt about it" as he would say. . .

I'm going to send you an email about the zebra rug in a minute.

Well, I'm sure that even back then you had the coolest house. I do remember all those faux finishes and even did a few myself. I like the way we decorate now so much better. Have fun at Scotts - always love those pictures.

Oh I so miss The Bachelor since I flew back here to Dublin! I must look for it on youtube and see if there are episodes there to watch. I agree, he's no Brad Pitt and you couldn't pay me enough to ripline or mingle amongst creepy crawlies for him!
Love your pics - it's amazing how trends have changed and so many of us had very similar spaces to yours and they were gorgeous at the time. The do look so busy now compared to the simple, classic looks we're used to now. :)

It looked good for back then. I cracked up about Brad. I can't stand to hear him talk either, yet I keep watching while blogging. I need to go to Scott's. Don't buy it all.

OMG! I am laughing out loud {again} due to your spot on comment about The Bachelor and Brad. I too find him annoying and it really is that he uses way too many adjectives...among other things. I missed Monday's show but will now watch it on hulu to see the caving date!

The fern fabric shower curtain is gorgeous, {and I think still current, does that date me?!} and in it's next life would make a great roman shade, pillows or upholstery on an occasional chair...
Have a great week-end!

I stopped watching the Bachelor. He's on my nerves so bad I can't stand it! I am always amazed at what some women will do ...... like you said he's not Brad Pitt ..... truthfully even if he was I wouldn't jump through hoops :)

I still love animal prints ! I had the zebra wallpaper in my bath. Now it makes me think of Russell Brandt petting the fur wall in that movie, Get Him to The Greek.

Hi Sherry,
I don't own a television so I have no idea what you are talking about...I haven't had TV for 11 years...life is soooo much better without it....
and your home from a while back is really quite nice..I like how quite a few of furnishings and fabrics you had then are still current...

Well it's clear that you've always had good taste but times were definitley different back then. Less restrained is probably a good way to phrase it...Have a great weekend.

Sherry, it is always fun visting your blog. You are stylish and entertaining. And from what I can see ahead of the design game. Now we see Zebra rugs and cowhides everywhere!

I would definitely use that shower curtain fabric again. Maybe as pillows? It looks like a mega expensive & timeless Frank pattern.

Happy Valentines weekend.

Hi Sherry! So happy I found your blog (through your website). Looked through your portfolio and I love your style!

This was such a fun post to read. Besides the faux finishes and ceiling to wall columns, there are I noticed a lot of items that are currently in style (at least I like it;). Like the gorgeous glass-top coffee table, zebra skin, fern print and horn lamp. And I LOVE that shower curtain fabric! See, never throw anything out, it will definitely come back in style again (you proved it)!

Have a great weekend, and thank you for sharing these images!!

This post is so funny! It's so fun to see how our decor changes over time .... HALLELUJAH! And hey, when a girl loves a fabric, a girl loves a fabric ... even if it does make for a very expensive shower curtain!!

Uhhhh... i like the zebra rug. And the glossy on the walls is cool too. In fact it's easy to see that even 10 years ago, you had great style and a great eye...

I am so done with this season of the Bachelor. Brad is a tool and the women either are about 22 or act like they are 22. I don't have time for that. The photos are so awesome. We took pictures when we toured the house before putting an offer in and I had the presence of mind to take pictures. One crazy example in this post - http://houseography.blogspot.com/2010/07/nursery-part-i-big-stuff.html
