WEST ELM AND THE WEEKEND

I hope everyone had a swell weekend.....I left y'all on Friday with thoughts of painting my powder room but just could not get motivated.

What is wrong with me?  I could hear all of you guys in my head painting...doing DIY projects...rearranging things and it still did not help to get me to the paint store.

Crap....maybe I need to schedule a party.  That will get you going right:)

I got an email that West Elm is having a great sale with 25% off their sofa's and chairs thru 9/1.

I had to pop over and see what's new.

The first thing that caught my eye was this cute sofa.

The Captain's Settee

It is very similar to this chair from Gabby Home which I love.

I pulled 2 different colors and put together a board...

Love this one welted in navy...
It would work in a small keeping area or maybe in an office right?

Have you seen some of WE's new lighting....and their art?

Here is another room done with the navy upholstery.
Again...trimmed out in a light color.  This could even be used in a dining area for seating.

Of course you can't leave West Elm without looking at their great accessories.

No secret that I love some black and white goodness.  The woven trays are a favorite also.
I used one on an ottoman here...

And in a bar setting!

How about the stackable boxes

Yes to those please.

So about my weekend.....here are a few iPhone pictures to sum it up.

I usually stack a bunch of pillows on the LR sofa to keep this girl off but on Friday she decided it was easy to kick those suckers out of the way:)

On Saturday I dressed her up in her best funeral/mourning outfit in honor of the loss of my friends dog.

I sent this to her and she said she looked like an old man.  I'm just busy....busy.

She managed to find a puppy that needed a home so things are better now....

Patchy smiled when she heard that news....

I tried this Bruschetta recipe from Mary Ann at Classic Casual Home and let me tell you....there were no leftovers!

And...dug out a collection of amber bottles for my mantel.

It's no wonder I had no time for painting right:)

There is always next weekend.

I'm in the same boat - plenty to do but can't seem to get motivated to do it. I blame the heat.

Okay count me in if you do a painting party because my middle daughter just left for her first year at college and her room...UGH, I need to paint it pronto but I am dragging my feet because the task seems daunting. I absolutely LOVE that ottoman fabric you chose, gorgeous!! well and your dog.. just huggable.

LOVE the second collage! Beautiful combination. YOU know how I love trimmed out upholstery pieces. Remember when I was going to trim mine out in white? That settee has beautiful lines. I like what you did better than painting!! LOL
Happy Week,
Kathysue

I love every single morsel of this post! All of it!

I am considering one of those settees for the new house, if we ever get there.

Thanks so much for your continuing inspiration, Sherry!

I always love their accessories - so fun. Isn't painting the hardest thing to get worked up to do, but what a difference it makes when complete - did that get you inspired???!! Happy Wednesday ~

You were real busy! Of course you could not get the painting done. Love West Elm and all their accessories especially and their tabletop decor. Too bad this is not on sale. Love the woven tray you have. So versatile.

Haha, Awwwwww... love the doggie pictures. Yes... dogs and furniture, where do we begin. My Daisy likes to take the food from her bowl and drop it on the rug before she eats it of course. And any nasty greasy toy or rawhide gets hidden in the creases of the white slipcovers...

Does your dog know my dog? Sounds like they could get into a lot of mischief together. Beau is not proud either. He can be dressed up like a fool and could care less!!
