A SMALL INSTALL

Taps on the microphone....hopefully some of you are still out there:)

I know....I often wonder why I can't get my post written in a timely manner anymore.  I hesitate to say this because my family and friends will be all crazy and start calling.....but....I do think it is mild depression.  In fact I think I have mentioned it before but it really does affect my work and just day to day living.

Take procrastination and multiply it by 10....everything seems to take so much effort and I can easily ignore things which is not good when people have hired you to get it done!

Ever since my sister died last summer [it is coming up on a year] I have felt this way.  I can say it comes and goes and I know time can help but as I say...."one day at a time"....

The exciting news is that I did get a small install done!  Yay....alert the press!

It is my "modern glam" client and I have to say I am proud of how this one is coming along!

On my last post I showed you a few updates....and this one will reflect the bookcases and pillows along with a few other accessories!

Here is the before....when she bought the place.  This was the previous owners things.  She wanted to rip down the shelves but I talked her into painting them because I knew she would like them better....and guess what....I was right:)

Pats self on the back!

Here is what the sectional and bookcases looked like before we started!

I did have a little "chat" with her before I started buying things.  She wanted a lot of picture frames of her family and equestrian objects.  I persuaded her to let me do a gallery wall of family pictures in the hallway and I said yes....I would mix in some "horsey stuff".  BUT....I was not going to make it a "theme"!

We came to a good place and Rose and I got started shopping.  [Rose is the best].

We are still waiting for a fixture to replace the fan.... but I am so happy with how they turned out!

Really most was thrifted except for the white jar at the top!

Man I love doing shelves!  And the pillows really came together on the sectional.  Waiting for the curtains to arrive which should happen in the next 2 weeks!

There is also a chair coming in the above empty space which has been shipped!  Hallelujah....

The bedroom is coming along but still working on a few things!

How I made myself sit down and do this is a small miracle...but baby steps right!

Oh yeah I had so much fun hanging out with Mary Ann from
Classic Casual Home and Kim from Northern California Style Thursday and Friday night.  They were in town for a DIY conference and we went to dinner!

You should read both of their blogs....so much good stuff!

You guys have a great Sunday and hopefully I can get everything I need to get done next week....finished!

MORE PROJECT UPDATES

You guys gave me some good ideas to help stop my night terrors about my sister.  I am trying to look at as many beautiful pictures of her as much as I can to replace the horror of watching her die.

Many of you have suffered the same feelings I have had and I appreciate your words of wisdom to help me on my journey of healing.  Thank you for sharing.

I am slowly moving through life right now trying to catch up with work and forcing myself to step outside of my comfort zone.  Every morning when the alarm rings I fight that urge to stay in bed and sleep all day.  I know that is not the way to move through this situation.  Time is a great healer....

Let's get to design now......

About a month or so ago some beautiful window treatments were installed  at a clients and as many years as I have been in business.....I am always amazed at what a game changer this can be!

Just so you know....it was January when these were measured and it took this long to get the fabric in stock and fabricated!  Things are so slow these
days :(

This beautiful light filled family room!

The living room above and below is the dining room....

Her daughters room.....

Another of the DR....still waiting for a few more chairs.....and that is the table I found for her at a consignment shop!

Master bath.....

And a few more things that have finally come in!

Pretty jars above the fridge....

Benches covered.....

Below we had a pretty lumbar pillow made....waiting for the headboard!

I picked up this little rug and had a pillow made for this bed!  Along with the 2 shams.....

Spray painted these wall baskets white just for something different!

Close up of this pretty pillow!

And the crown jewel of this beautiful home is the new pool that was just recently finished.

It is basically a plunge pool.....and I think it's perfect!

Hope you enjoyed these updates.....more to come I promise.

We have had rain for a couple of days here in Atlanta but I understand that fall is coming right around the corner with cooler temps by the weekend!

Happy Tuesday

PILLOWS

I was down in Bluffton for my nephews engagement party last weekend and I was sitting on the couch with my sister on Saturday......she looked at me and said did you post yesterday [Friday]?  I looked at her....and I cocked my head...."uh no....I completely forgot"

Yikes.  I think my brain just got so relaxed all bets are off when it came to any responsibility.  The first night we were there I slept 12 hours.

But....nothing like spending time with family right?

I have some installs coming up so I have been in a "pillow fog" trying to decide which direction to go.

I never like to go with my first inclination....because it is usually predictable.

That is the case with this space at Madison.  We ordered a new sectional for the TV room and we are working with a very colorful rug.

So if you are thinking of pillows with red and blue in them then just wipe that slate clean.

Nope.  There is already enough color in the rug so we don't need any more.

I will go with neutrals....adding texture.  After a massive search for the coffee table and a console under the TV.....I have a few more things to secure before I go down there to install!

But while I was pillow searching I thought I would share some of my finds with you.  I can be generous like that:)

I put some combinations together....I repeated some just to show you that how to use a single pillow in a couple of combinations.  I know....it's not rocket science!

Here are a few that I am considering for the sectional....I might throw in a blue one:)

Alrighty then....off to workout....walk Camilita and meet the kitchen designer for my sisters kitchen.....so she can stop bugging me....haha.  She did not like that I threw her under the bus last week!

PILLOWS

OK.... are y'all ready for pillowrama?

It's no secret about my love for something that will change the look of a room in a nanosecond.

I've been known to overbuy and if truth be told I might have bought a few while I was there last weekend.

#supportgroup

Beginning with Sudi.....

Love the details on this one with the stripe back!

This Thibaut fabric is a favorite of mine.....

Blues are still strong for her!

Then of course I ran by Sugar Feather which is a favorite of mine....

Stripes are my jam....

I'm asking everyone this question....is brown the new black?

Loving the pink colorway!

Next up is Ryan Studio who never disappoints!

Love all of the greens....

I discovered Filling Spaces Design and was 100% smitten....I'm sure y'all know how I feel about this collection;)

Picture me dancing like Elaine on Seinfeld

Never met a block print I didn't like.....

Last one....

I might have bought a few of these....

So OK.....thoughts......favorite collection?

What is it about these squishy things that have captured my heart so huh?

Not sure if you can tell but I mistakenly grabbed the wrong end of the curling iron yesterday and blistered my fingers.....

That hurt like a mofo my friends.

Are you ready for the weekend....
