You ready????
Boy what a buildup. You would think I was designing a whole house with no budget and it was going to be featured in AD.
I think that this project resonates with everyone....how to put a room together on a budget and fast. Where to start....making a plan.
As I told you in the first post....we cleaned.... measured, and drew out a rough floor plan. Next up..... get on the internet and find inspiration.
We did not want to change the wall color which had a hint of gold in it. My sister did paint the bathroom because it was FULL ON YELLOW.
This task is important.....you need to know the sizes of items...and when you are outlet shopping that is crucial. You gotta get when you see!
To save you time....I will show the before space and the after.....so you don't have to flip back to the previous post.
I can be nice like that :)
Ugly ass yellow.
My favorite shower curtain from Target. This room was so small it was hard to get shots.
This is before the "big clean"....vomit.
Much better....need a little touch up on the paint....but remember we did all of this in 4 days!
Before...
I had the mirror which was white and we painted. My sister had the chair and I dug around for a pillow in my stash! We could only find a 6 by 9 rug instead of 8 by 10 but it works....
I also had all of these accessories on the chest....of course I had to stage it a little. Doubt it will stay like that you know.....
Thank goodness there was a magnolia tree out back....
Before
Here is a picture before the pillows were added. Love those Target lamps...the bring the texture from the chair to the other side of the room. I had the owl picture and the black end table.
And....the pillows from my fabric stash.
Simple gray trim to frame them....
Did not want to use too many decorative pillows....he is guy after all and might not want to spend the better part of the morning trying to put that puzzle together. Just saying....
I tried to get a close up of the duvet from the Nate Burkus Collection. It was perfect.
Desk and chair.....such good deals....sigh.
Before
This was the steal of the buying spree.....the bookcase.
I did the best I could to stage this sucker.....There is a story behind the 3 beer bottles....I am sure all the cute stuff I added will disappear back to my hoarding closet:)
We did not have much time to shop for art but I saw these at Home Decorators and thought they would look great on a side wall.
They were so cheap. Might have to haul myself back up there to purchase....need to see where we are on the budget first :)
That is all I got....as a blogger we live for before and afters right....well I LOVE doing them. Especially when I don't have to get permission for my choices!
Thanks for every single one of your comments on this series. I heard from people who were only stalkers before and felt compelled to say something about this project!
Love that!
Thursday I had lunch with Lori and Erika. We met at ADAC and were fighting over 4 month old Cam......
Such a good baby:)
Have a rocking good weekend.....final four here in Atlanta....traffic is gonna suck.

love it!!! Those pillows knocked it out of the park. What a lucky Nephew he is to have you!!! (if he's reading this: you owe you Auntie a BIG glass of wine and maybe a box of chocolates too!) :-)
Sher - i love it! Just love! everything. chic-est man in town (without being girly).
can you come to my house next? you are AMAZING.
A throw together! Yah right! I love it! Perfect texture pattern mix as always! Bravo!
This room is beyond!!! The stars were all aligned at the PB outlet & Target . I am so impressed:))))
Love the room! Totally magazine worthy. He is one lucky young man who owes Aunt Sherry big. I am thinking nice dinner plus spa day.
Oh my gosh, I love it!! I am about to take on my 14 year old's room - it's so gross, I can barely stand to step in there - but this gives me a little fortitude to go ahead and get it done - all those scores from outlet shopping! You are the queen.
This is freaking unbelievable!! That chest is to die for!! You did wonders.....seriously!! Thanks for making my Friday!! :)
What a talent you are to put all of that together on a budget and so quickly. great job hope he appreciates it as much as we do!!
Aunt sherry! You totally rocked it. Thank you so much. All the commenters are giving me some good ideas for forms of payment... Haha. Thanks a million you're the best!

The room looks fab.
The challenge is the fun of it all!
What one can do with all most nothing?
You can do a LOT!

we adore you!
It turned out really great! You did an amazing job. I totally love that bookshelf and I am still in awe over the great deals that you got.
OK sooooo good. Can't get over how amazing everything looks! What a great aunt you are.
If I missed it I'm sorry but what paint colors did you use in the bathroom and bedroom? I love them.
Wow! It looks fantastic. I love that it is simple enough for a "man" to manage, yet stylish. You knocked that one out of the park.
Awesome, Sherika!! Just like you :) Be careful: all your clients will be expecting this fabulousness now, in 4 days! And, on a budget!!!
PS - Love that bureau / chest.....cool lines!!
Lucky guy to have such a talented aunt with a pillow and accessories stash!!!
Go Aunt Sherika!! What a lucky nephew. You are good! Love it all, especially the pillows and the bookcase.
I would be willing to call you my aunt if you want to come do a before and after at my house!! xoSissy
Fanflipingtastic!! Just like I knew it would be...I couldn't wait for the big reveal and you didn't disappoint! Your nephew must be thrilled.
What a transformation! I love the pillows and the chest. It all looks so great!
It looks so chill! Where did you place the nekked mannequin and oversized baby bottle from Scott's? They would be perfect for a nice nephew's room! ;-)))
Fabulous transformation. While you created the room on a budget, it doesn't look like it. Love it!
Wow! Looks amazing! Did your nephew just love it?!? Way to go. See,...hoarding does pay off ;)

What a beautiful job you and your sister did, Sherry. No one would believe you did it on such a small budget. All it takes is great taste! I hope your nephew realizes how lucky he is. Have a great weekend.
Best...Victoria

debra
Such a great job. You always make it look so easy.
Amazing transformation. Every time! Is the "after" room really the same color as the before photos? Looks so different in the afters - so fresh and clean. Love it! I wish you were my aunt!
Talented Sherry! I would say you hit this one out of the ballpark!Great masculine room with warmth and character. Every choice you made is spot on. I can only imagine how lucky your nephew feels having such a great room. Little baby Cam is adorable!what a little doll baby,
Happy Weekend,
Kathysue
PS still plugging along on the familyroom! Pillows are on their way! Woo Hoo!!
Searching to find words that the 400 people before me didn't use! This could be an ad for Target!? Great spot for bedding and lamps! and your gorgeous pillows sealed the deal! The desk and chair are perfect! I'd love those two in my home! Bravo!
Barbara
I love that it looks finished but not 'decorated'. Also just enough masculine. Awesome room Sherry.
Best Auntie ever :)
oh my gawd, perfection! i'm diggin' the original tile in the bath and those cutie pie gold animals on the shelf!
Amazing! Perfect illustration that good design does not have to cost a fortune.
wow. such a great looking room. i decided to hunt for the target lamps and drove around 3 targets to get a pair. and they had been marked down again.. YAY! plan to make over my son's room when he goes to college this fall. planning ahead .. thanks for all the cool ideas! you are the Best
Great job Sherry....love how it came together!
The reveal is fabulous! I love how calm and slightly masculine it. You are so talented...looks easy when you do it! Fave score...desk
New to your site and these before and after pictures are tres impressive. Creative and resourceful! Lucky nephew!
Judy G.
Love it, love it, love it! Perfect as always. Please open an Etsy pillow shop...I. Beg. You.
P.S. Baby Cam is ridiculously cute.
Some people work well under pressure. You however are SUPER!
Love it all and have to say that shower curtain is my new fav too. Put it in my boys bath with the grey/orange/yellow/black stripe towels and rug.
I spot an old train ticket to Alresford! How strange, that's where my Dad lives...and near me in the UK!!!! And it's not pronounced how its spelt by the way...very funny!! The railway line isn't part of our modern system anymore but is called the watercress line and has old steam trains on it! Random information...cool makeover!
You're a genius my dear. Love it all!
So damn good - I hope I can do something like this someday for my nephew. It's got such a nice grown up look but pieces that he'll be able to use forever. That desk vignette is so simple but I think that's my favorite and the shelf too. Great work as always Sherry!
Awesome makeover! Love the pillows and the desk chair with the desk. Perfect for a guy... i bet he really loves what you did. That owl picture over the bed is really cool too, and thanks for showing us that great target shower curtain!
Cindy
Another AMAZING job, love that you show how to do it right on a budget. He called the right designer! :)
Sherry, I love this project and it's amazing the transformation. Such a wonderful combination of pattern, texture, and great style, as always.
Loves. I wanted to fall right into that bed and taking a freaking nap. Thats' one lucky kid. Isn't that Target shower curtain the ish? Used it recently on a project and it stole the show. Great stuff as always lady. Hope you survived the traffic from yesterday.
Wow!! Looks amazing!!
It may belong to a boy, but I would live there! PS That uglyass yellow bathroom looks just like one in my house :). I also used the target shower curtain which helped a lot.
Wow - what a transformation!! I love, love the finished space.
Love the way this turned out! Could you tell me more about the target shower curtain? Did you buy it online?
Thanks,
Sherry
