BEFORE AND AFTER LAKE HOUSE

I have no idea where I left off.....it has certainly been a while :)

But let us not harp on my faults and get going on what I have been up to!

I think I have another post on the lake house to show you.....as I have said these clients downsized and then bought a lake house so much of the furniture that did not fit in the smaller home came with them.

My job was to blend it and give it a cohesive look.
In my humble opinion....I think I manage to do that.

In all honesty that is something that I really enjoy doing.....

This is the room that had a lot of left over furniture in it.

Notice the silk curtains on the RHS.  I did those for her many many years ago in her master bedroom.

They cost a pretty penny at that time so I suggested to build the room around them!  Beside these panels we had 2 more that were not being used.....

I found this chest in a storage closet along with the mirror!

I do love to shop the home.....

This was my vision.  Indoor/outdoor carpet [she has 2 big dogs!] Cover the bench with the Thibaut performance fabric.  Take some art and hang on the opposite side of the chest.  The pretty Brunschwig fabric for a lumbar on the bed.  AND....the best part was make a headboard and rails from the leftover the curtain fabric!

Was very excited about this part of the design!

New lamps and some accessories.....

Another table I had found in the storage closet....with the framed art the same size as the mirror on the other side!

I used her bedding and the roll pillow was hers!

Let's go back to the view with the tall dresser....

The ottoman had not been recovered at that time.....

Found the vintage chair and some original vintage art over it.

The bathroom got a new shower curtain but was not ready when I did my install...but I did find another ornate mirror and zhushed it up a little

And she is real pretty now for a basement guest room:)

Thoughts.....?  I loved shopping for this one and planning out how the room would look without re-inventing the wheel.

I hope I can catch up as I have a few more things to post.  Life gets hectic when you are a single girl with a full time job.  I can't imagine not working [OK maybe a little less] because I still have a passion for design!

We had some really hot weather in June which is weird for Atlanta but the last week has been in the mid 80's.  That is the perfect temperture in my opinion!

I did go to Nantucket in early June.  Funny story but my neighbor Anne who had this faux flower arrangement made.

She paid 2 arms and a leg for it.....I said "girl what funeral did you steal these from? "  Not to throw her entirely under the bus....she really was not very  happy with it.

So I took it apart and got it down to this!

She will not be happy that I posted this...hahaha.
