BEFORE AND AFTER

I have been working on this project for about 6 months.  Custom furniture always takes the longest.....and there is bound to be a little backordered curtain fabric thrown into the mix:)

But.....it is slowly coming together and I have a few tight shots to share with you today.  If you want to read more about it you can go here.

The CR Laine spool chairs arrived and they are so pretty!

We used the Driftwood finish.

The garden stool from Wisteria fits nicely in between them.

After
The curtains were also hung and of course that  is always a game changer right....along with the Ballard acrylic coffee table.

The Charles Stewart sofa made it's debut and I am always amazed at the superior quality of their furniture.  I used a performance fabric called Crypton....and while it is considered a workhorse I would not recommend just smearing mustard on it!

After

A small gallery wall was hung over the bench behind the sofa.....

The armoire was finally removed and and the piano in place.....

Which leaves me another challenge....more art or something architectural?

After
Here are 3 in contention.....

Thinking a bit of punch in the room......Do you have a favorite?

Crikey there is a lot of wall space in this room:)

What plans do y'all have for the holiday?  You will find me at Jury Duty on Monday.  Yeah that sucks......but even more if I get picked.  Somebody has a bad attitude.

MADISON UPDATE

Good Lord y'all....yesterday [Monday] just about killed me.  I started putting out "design" fires at 9:30 and the fun never stopped.

I was installing curtains at my Madison project and when we opened the hardware box there was only one rod instead of 2.  Whaaaaaa. This would not have been a big deal except for the fact that it's 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta so it's not cheap to get these babies installed!

I learned that some furniture I was waiting for got sent back to North Carolina because of a warehouse snafu.  #designerproblems

Did I have a sign on my back that said "kick me"?

Oh well....nothing some pretty pictures can't fix!

I have a few updated pictures of Madison [you can see all the before and afters if you search Madison in the sidebar]....

Y'all remember where we started right?

Clearing out the weeds and trimming things back [nothing was planted] I was amazed at how good it looked!

ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 5

It was bound to happen.  I was walking around all cocky like I was president of the world or something.  So darn ahead of the game....somebody crown me Queen of the ORC.  I will give seminars on how to work this gig.  There will be a reality show......

Yeah....then BAM.  The fall was long and hard.  We had to go to Chicago to take my father in law to the doctors.

Crikey......will I even finish now?

I say that because I do have a few paying clients that might need some attention ya know?

Anyway before I left we did make a little progress.

Welcome to week 5 of the ORC!

The most fun you will ever have:)  To refresh you can read week one here

If you follow me on Instagram then you saw we played around with the art gallery wall.

There was only one problem.....the picture on the bottom left was just not working.  Too small and we only had 2 for the other side.

Since this is for family I can improvise:)  I told the ex bunny to paint something up before I got there.

Then I made a TV and laid it out on the floor.  While I was busy studying it my sister grabbed one and started banging nails into the wall.  Are you kidding me?  My whole head began to itch.  I am a "measurer" and she is an "eyeballer".

It might not look much different but when you see the whole wall you will get it!

Another last minute decision was adding another fabric.  Yes....I had an epiphany and decided I needed a touch of modern in the mix.  Enter KW Channels via Spark Modern  They were awesome handling my panicky need to get them ASAP!

Other decisions.....We ordered 2 of these to go behind the sofa.

This was another little cutie that came with my Minted order

It found it's way onto the shelves in the kitchen.

It's a work in progress for sure:)

These got hung in the kitchen but then.....I was rummaging through my closet and found this...

After hanging..... the pictures were relocated.

The relaxed roman shades got hung over the small square windows above the newly installed cabinets.

Since there was not 12 yards of greek key trim available and it we were starting to get close to the budget I decided to head over to Hobby Lobby and see if I could find a less expensive version.

I stumbled across these....

I like this one but felt maybe we were at our limit with blue.

So I am thinking the first one or this will win out at the great price of under $2.00 @yd.

I am not kidding when I say I have so much left to accomplish.  Styling everything will take ton's of time along with taking the reveal pictures and editing.

I am sure everyone else  has already finished and they are sitting back drinking and smirking at me.

But just to be sure why don't you read up on their progress!

Hopefully I can come up for air before next Wednesday!!!

PROJECT DESIGN GALLERY WALLS

Let's be clear....I procrastinated so long I didn't complete this task until the 11th hour.  And by that I mean I started putting it together yesterday around 2:00.

Which also meant that I had to take the pictures....edit them and now here I am trying to get this out before the 9:00 deadline.

It's looking like the "waiting until the last minute" thing does not get better with age:)

For the sake of time I will eliminate the chit chat and get right on it.

Part one here
Part two here

This is where we started....2 empty shelves and bare wall space.

I started playing with the design hoping to arrive at a plan before I get to the point where I don't care and just slap something up while shouting loudly "how much I don't care" .....you been there?

These 3 went up seamlessly:)

I am on a roll now....I'll have this done in no time.

I could have left it like this but I felt it was a little too predictable.

Can I tell you how anxious this situation actually makes me.

Anyway I call husband in for a little assistance.....  of course first giving him a lesson on how to actually take a picture with the iPhone.

This...
Or this...

Crap no.  I'm getting way off track.  Too busy.

Deal.

For now right....
I love this little Arteriors mirror I scored at HomeGoods.

I was actually pleased with the easy "no mat" situation.

From the other direction....

Annnnnnnnd that's a wrap.

She's not amused.

Frames from Michaels
Art from Scott's
Shelves from Container Store

Thanks to Mary Ann and Cindy for inviting me!

Now you get to go see what everyone else came up with!

See ya Wednesday for the One Room Challenge update week 4!
