Well....as promised I am sharing my outfits for all of the wedding festivities!  For once I feel pretty organized with just a few things missing on the actual wedding outfit.

As I mentioned one sister is having the cocktail party on Thursday night and I am having a light brunch on Sunday for anyone that is still hanging around.  Weddings are nothing if you are not managing everyones time right?

 First up is the cocktail party.  I found this cute Vince Camuto lace number at Dillards on major sale.  Now I know what you are thinking....it looks short.  It isn't....and so comfortable:)  I pared it with flats for even more comfort....

Next up is the rehearsal party.  This dress [which is no longer available] is from Dillards Antonio Melani line and I gotta tell you whoever designs for them has it going on!  They are well made and not really too expensive.  I got this one on sale for 69.65 which was a steal!

In reality the shoes are a perfect match to the dress.  And on sale for 47.99!  Winning....

 Here is where we hit a snag.  I bought this dress and I love it.  It is navy which is the next best thing to wearing black but not as harsh right?  But what color shoes?  Should I go nude like they show or black or matte gold....come on help me out?

Sunday Brunch is casual...... I bought these "mom jeans" at Abercrombie for 44.00 on sale.  The 12 year old working the register tried to tell me these were exempt to the "all jeans 50% off" sign so I dragged him by the collar over to the table [where there was a sign] and set him straight.

 The shirt is from H&M and it's so cute!  I am going to tuck it in and wear just a black ribbon as a belt!

 Then I got all crazy and couldn't stop.....because as long as I have been looking for some cute red shoes I finally found a pair at Dillards....have I mentioned that they have the BEST shoe department?

My goodness....y'all know how to make a person feel special:)  So glad you liked my One Room Challenge that I completed for my sister!  She's happy....I'm happy so all is right with my world right now.

Don't worry you know I am working on a post with lots of details so hang tight!

But.....I did want to share this fashion post that I put together last week before it's out of style....haha.

I've done a little spring shopping....I know.... you would think "where did she find the time?"

But I did!  Some I ordered and some I snagged while I was out and about because you know all the summer stuff will be gone by July 1st.

I love these pants....I tried wide leg last year but couldn't get on board.....I do think the trick is to wear a higher heel!

 

Last year I bought a similar dress from J Crew Factory and it became a staple during the dog days of summer!  I love the Bag from H&M!



I wanted to show you a different look with the wide leg pants!  I have the black top from BR and I also have a similar fanny pack which is so fun!


I'm not sure I can wear this dress without a jacket....no matter how much you work out...those arms just don't cooperate :) But...it was so cheap I am not bothered if I don't wear it that much....




I took a trip up to J Crew Factory last Sunday and picked up a few things....so much value!




I can't wait to wear this dress from H&M!  So cute...

I did buy this shirt at BR and wore it yesterday !  I love it.

I think I am into lemons lately:)

And these were on sale plus 40% off....so I couldn't resist!

I ordered this from BP in a size 10 which is what I generally wear and couldn't hardly get my arms in it!  WTH?


And I picked up this navy t- shirt to wear with white jeans!

Alrighty then unfortunately I have a couple of appointments today so I gotta get moving:)

PACKING FOR MOROCCO






Hey guys....  Somebody asked me what I packed in my carryon bag for 6 days of travel!  I did not want to have to check my bag in case it got lost...so of course I was very careful about what went in and kept editing until it all fit.  I stuffed things in my shoes and rolled everything to get it all to fit in.

So first of all I have this suitcase by Travelpro

It's your basic 21" spinner carry on.  But I also found the small bag below at Target and it was great for my makeup, reading material, purse etc....

It has a little zipper compartment on the bottom which I put my PJ's in.

 So...I had 2 things to attend while I was there....a dinner and the marriage celebration.

It wasn't real dressy so for dinner  I mixed this very lightweight BCBG jacket with white jeans and a cami with a built in bra.  It was perfect.  The weather was 66-70 during the day but cooler at night.
For the celebration [they had actually already gotten married in Atlanta] as this was not a religious ceremony for those of you thinking why  wasn't I arrested for my racy top....I wore the outfit above.  The top is from BCBG and the scarf was from Zara.  It was all very lightweight and easy to pack.

As far as putting things together...well what did you expect from me....all basics!  Jeans, white jeans, black shoes....

I had this lightweight stripe scarf/coverup which worked perfectly.  It was actually warmer that day so I wore it as a scarf.  I wore my hat everyday to keep the sun off my face and to hide my unfixed hair....haha

On the cooler day I wore my black J Crew Juliette sweater with leggings and a long sleeve white T.

I look like a wrinkled mess here!

 I can honestly say I took just enough and wore everything I brought....mixing it up with the white jeans...a white t shirt and throwing on the jean shirt.

 The trick is to be able to layer....but you guys know that right?  Basically this is the way I dress on a daily basis.

 OK.....there you go....travel tips from Sherry although it might be a while before I jump on a plane and head out on a long trip....

NEW YEARS DAY 2019







Helloooooo?  Anybody there?

I'm just checking in with a quick post today because we are down at the beach having a low key holiday. 
I know you remember how bad Cami is in the car....
I gave her the sedative.....we put the bark collar on but the minute we pulled out of the driveway she started barking like crazy.  My husband and I looked at each other and realized that the collar wasn't working so we drove straight to Pet Smart for a new one.

Priorities people.

Last night I cooked....I know.....who am I?  ha ha  I found this quick and easy recipe on Pinterest called Hoppin John [find it on myPinterest page] which I have never heard of but looked simple enough that I could handle!


I added some turkey sausage with it for protein and actually put mine on arugula instead of rice.  I'm nothing if not creative in the kitchen...haha.  I know you are supposed to eat black eyed peas on New Years Day but I like to buck the trend....


We had a wedding in the family last Saturday.  My step son got married and inherited 2 beautiful sweet girls....


In February he will be headed to Casablanca to live and in March we are going over there for another celebration.  I am already dreading that plane ride.  Have I mentioned what a crabby traveler I am?

On Friday I had lunch with my core group of design friends.....These girls have my heart....I am like the "mama" of the group though cause they are all younguns....

This is 2 days after I had my IPL laser treatment and what you can't see is that I had to put my makeup on with a spackle knife. Today is almost a week later and the brown  spots are still pretty dark so note to self.....I am thinking it's gonna take about 2 weeks for them to fade out completely!

I went to Ladisic Fine Homes holiday party and I thought I would share my outfit with you!

I know....yawn.  Black cream and beige.  My "box" is small.

I hope all of you had a great NYE.....We finished watching The Wire....which was great so now I am on the hunt for something else.  I did manage to stay up until midnight:)

Can it be Friday already?  I kind of had a 2 day work week and it was pretty nice.......although it does nothing for my 10 page "to do" list.

So fall fashion....I did a lot of my purchasing back on Labor Day weekend so I am slowing pulling out things muttering "holy cow I bought some stuff...."

But y'all know I like to keep it basic and pretty simple so there isn't much thought process when pulling things to wear.  

When I was getting my outfits together for the 7 events [House Beautiful sponsor parties] it was black and white and variations of black on black HA HA!

Matthew Quinn remarked "Oh hi Sherry....more #blackandwhite....?  Why yes Matthew there is enough color in this house so I want to stand out :)"

Just saying....

So here we go.....


I bought 2 of the Teddy sweaters at J Crew Factory [buy one get one free!] while in Florida.  The green earrings and small clutch are from Banana Republic...as are the pants!  This is a great day to night with the addition of the green don't cha think?

A little more shopping in Florida at J Crew Factory!  The puffer vest in black and the loafers [which are very comfy!] I bought the tortoise earrings from J Crew and were only 19.50!

Denim shirt is from J Crew Factory and pants  [which I have] and bag are from Banana Republic


OK....this one is pretty easy too! The sweater is from J Crew Factory, and the black coat, the scarf  the earrings are from J Crew.  The shoes and pants are from Banana Republic....always wait for the sale!


What is hotter than booties this fall?  I mean....
The black sweater coat I bought last year at J Crew Factory and I might need to get another as I have it on heavy rotation! Bag, jeans, t shirt, booties....thinking hard about these!

And this one might scare you....

Yes.... I bought at DSW.  It wasn't much of an investment as they are quite trendy right!  And....then I had to research to actually see the best way for me to wear them cause I was a little worried.  I know what you are thinking.

I'm too old.  Nah.....I'm going for it!


I tried on a furry jacket and it was ridiculous.  Not for me.

Then I saw this on LIKE to KNOW it Fashion_Jackson.  I think I can pull this one off.  
I ordered the coat....I had some credits and decided to take back another coat I had purchased so I wasn't out that much!  The sunglasses....the jeans....the purse

I'll let you know when the coat arrives and we will discuss.  I did wear them last night to meet my sister and her husband for dinner with jeans, white t shirt, and a leather jacket.  I felt pretty good until my sister started singing...."these boots are made for walking....."

And laughed.

I've turned into a slug....no seriously this much needed weekend off [which I had big plans for.....think getting organized] kind of took a backseat to doing pretty much nothing.....except for catching up on OZARK!  I'm 4 episodes in and it's riveting.....#ruthforpresident

I'm actually writing this on Monday so there is still hope that I can check a few things off my list!

Had to finally take Cami to the vet on Sat morning.  [Thinking that I did not want to take her to the weekend/holiday vet and spend my whole fall budget on the bill....ha ha.]

Anyway they gave me an arsenal of meds to help with her situation and as of this morning I would say there is a 10% change in her condition!

Like I said last week.....I was aiming for some fall shopping while the sales were hot!  To say I stocked up for fall is an understatement.  Yikes I may have gone a little overboard.

That's what returns are for :)

 I have a few events coming up....and one is the opening of my Pinewood Forest showhouse.  Now I'm not one to throw on a dress....[the one I bought in the spring I still have not worn] so I thought I would show you guys how I will extend the life of "white jeans" through fall.

I bought this sweater jacket in black last spring from J Crew Factory but when I went back to get the camel one it was gone.  So glad they brought it back because the one they have at J Crew has funky sleeves on it....and I didn't like the cut.

OK...I am smitten with these gold shoes!  So I tried to figure out how would I wear them!  Of course Madewell hardly ever has sales....so I'm holding off on that purchase!

Yes....I caved and bought these pants from Banana Republic!  I had to right....black and white?

I guess I lied about not buying a dress....I forgot I bought this one.  I'm on the fence but since everything was on sale I purchased and will play around with it!

 And these black suede loafer.
I am definitely on the fence about these jeans.....but again....that is what returns are for.

 Wanted to buy....All from Club Monaco....where everything was a rare 25% off.  Should have bought that wrap.



 Shopping is so much fun....the thrill of the hunt!  Did y'all do any damage?  Spill it!
