BEFORE AND AFTER BASEMENT

Well I'm not sure what I am going to blog about after I finish showing you more pictures from my project featured in Southern Homes magazineMarcy Simpson took such gorgeous photos and really showcased my work.  I am humbled.

Yes I am still blabbing on about my recent 15 minutes of fame....kind of like when I painted my floors white.....just couldn't shut up about it and found a way to weave it into every conversation.

I'm nothing if not consistent.

Let's get right to it.

The basement.....which as you can see below was not built out at all and just used for storage.....

After.....don't ask me the color of the stain....I don't know it:)

I love how these knobs kind of mimic the iron panels.....

Looking past this sliding door you can see that there are 2 more rooms.....a den and a bedroom.

After staining.

The husband and wife are big readers so for once I had no shortage of books!

Pretty much everything downstairs had been upstairs so we repurposed it all.  The only thing new was this leather Charles Stewart sofa.

She had the rug which I loved.....

Looking through the doors you can see her former family room furniture all recovered....Nothing new except for the 2 blue ottomans.

And I gathered all of the colorful art to make a gallery wall of her favorites.....

Let's go all the way to the third floor.....where I repurposed more....

See the paint chips?  Those were the colors in her previous dining room rug.  I used it for one of the guest rooms.

And there were 2 of these cute little numbers in her former living room.

Desk painted....chair painted.... reused mirror.... all art was hers.

Guess what....since I have to run off to Orange Theory I will have enough for one more post....I know.....shoot me right?

I've been trying to work on a fashion post....those suckers take time but I'll get to it!

Friday kids....let's whoop it up!

THIS AND THAT

Y'all are the sweetest.  So many comforting comments about Cami.....and just so you know I have an appointment with the specialist on Wednesday.

I'm trying to stay positive:)

Last week while I was out shopping for clients I posted about fabrics and Ballard Designs.

That day continued with visits to World Market and Bed Bath & Beyond....

I saw these gorgeous pale pink dishes at WM....

And these headboards.....

The price is definitely right!

Bed Bath & Beyond is right next door.  It seems like I  am constantly looking for throws, pillows and bedding [life of a designer] and I sometimes forget about some of the good stuff they have!

This pretty linen [down insert] hummingbird pillow had me standing there thinking "somebody needs this"!

Of course I looked online for it and found a thousand other pillows [but not that one!]

Here for your viewing pleasure.....

I typed in down inserts in my search so some of these are a great deal when you factor that in.  And there is that 20% coupon always hanging around.

I love when I receive fabric samples in the mail....

Studio B is a line of hand printed fabrics....

And last.....

This months Atlanta Magazine featured Michael Ladisics Guest house which I was I decorated!

Article written by my friend Lisa Mowry and shot by Jeff Herr

Loving the iron garage door right?

You know it's hell getting old....yesterday I obliterated a small piece of lint on the floor disguised as a spider.....and when I got a closer look I thought well....whatever....it's dead.

PROJECT UPDATES

I'm pretty psyched that it's Friday!  It was a long HOT week here in Georgia......and after riding around all day for work.....I am arriving home exhausted.

Normally I would walk Cami around 4-5 pm and I'm having to wait until 7:30-8 because of the heat!

I also tried a new workout yesterday and whoa....I am feeling it this morning.

I think I will mix this in with my Orange Theory and spinning for some variety.

I have a few updates for you today on 2 projects.  It seems like once all the basics like furniture, rugs and lighting are in place it's the art that will help to define the space.

It usually takes some time to figure out what that should be.

For one project I turned to my friend Linda Donahue.

Here is the space!

And here is what will be going on the wall above.

I am SO EXCITED!!!!

Some of Linda's other work that can be found on Etsy.

I have been a big fan of her work for many years.

For the same project the powder room got wallpapered and it was a game changer.

You can see it has a slight metallic feel.....

In another project I found an artist who's work I have fallen in love with....Scott Herr.

Here is the dining room....all white with this gorgeous Circa Lighting chandelier.

This 4ft by 6ft beauty is going on the one solid wall....

I love all of his work....

I'm pretty pumped about both of these projects and can't wait to finish and get them photographed!

I mentioned that Cami was sick and got the news that peach pits contain cyanide....[WTH?] so after making some custom dog food [which did not seem to help this time] I headed to the vet.
X ray's and blood work showed nothing but he said it was probably acid reflux.

OK.....

Pepcid at night before bed for 10 days.   Seems to be working.

Could have bought a designer purse for what that cost me.

Oh yeah...a couple of Netflix shows we have blown through....

Gypsy and Shooter

I have decided that Ryan Phillippe is kind of hot.

Both are very different shows.
